HAhaha now we're acknowledging players voted MVP? Curry was the new kid on the block, Warriors got no respect. PRetty clear who really deserved the MVP when they faced off in the playoffs.
The next few years of wishful thinking and trying to muster up a championship roster around someone like James Harden is going to be even more unbearable as a Rocket fan. I have no hope that a Harden led team can be as good as the 70+ win GSWs. No way that is possible no matter what roster upgrades we perform. Not with him as our centerpiece.
You don't know this you already admitted it yourself, lol. The funny thing is you are dumb enough to think that Harden HAS to be our best player.
What? I would be absolutely ecstatic if Harden wasn't our best player?!? I though your claim along with others like you(Jsizzle, larsv8, alliot etc) is that the Rockets can win a ring with Harden as the best player? With all of Harden's deficiencies, he would make a perfect secondary option. That way, when the refs don't feel like going along with Harden's gimmicks, we have a better player that can take over without gimmicks.
He does it to himself man. So much knowledge, all wasted by his inability to recognize talent without the benefit of hindsight. I give him ****, but in the end, his extremist perspective and impeccable knowledge of the past is valuable to the site that is clutch fans.
People are reading you fine, they're just disagreeing with you. Pretty much this exact same team won 56 games and went to the WCF last year. We were contenders last year. We were not contenders this year. Why is that? Perhaps despite his stats, Harden is dragging the team down. NOTE: I AM NOT SAYING THAT THAT IS THE CASE. But you have to admit that it is at least a theoretical possibility. In which case your argument doesn't work.
Some people just hate the truth. I'm here for the orignal reason , which everyone should be here for.
I don't think that Hakeem's mvp season being better than any of Harden's or any other rocket in the history of the franchise is extreme. It's truth.
Yeah but you are not being objective because first of all you are comparing a shooting guard in the modern era of basketball to a center in an era when the game was played differently. So that right there puts a monkey wrench into anything you are trying to be objective about. Plus as others have pointed out, while Harden *may* be a more gifted player overall offensively, there is no question Olajuwon is one of the greatest (if not the greatest) defensive player in league history. He's top 10 in steals, number 1 in blocks, and very high in rebounds. And if you look at VORP, Hakeems best season was 8.5 compared to Harden's 1.7. So there are some big holes to your comparison, and frankly, I was willing to cut you some slack but you shouldn't be dissing Hakeem on this board by saying that Harden is better than Hakeem and then following it up by Robinson is better than Hakeem. We all were there and if you watch the games everyone knows Hakeem was better.
