Team press release: James Harden Earns Second Consecutive Western Conference Player of the Month Honors HOUSTON – Houston Rockets guard James Harden was named today by the NBA as Western Conference Player of the Month for games played in Jan., 2015. It marks the second consecutive month Harden has won the award (having won the honors in Dec., 2014) and only the 13th time in Rockets franchise history an individual has won Western Conference Player of the Month honors. This marks the first time in franchise history that a Houston player has won the award in consecutive months. Harden joins Yao Ming, Hakeem Olajuwon and Moses Malone as the only Rockets players to win Western Conference Player of the Month Honors multiple times. Harden (6-5, 220, Arizona State) averaged 25.8 points (.476, 136-286 FG; .426, 49-115 3FG; .874, 118-135 FT), 6.7 assists, 4.7 rebounds and 2.2 steals per game in leading Houston to an 11-6 month. His 25.8 points per game average was fourth amongst NBA scorers and Harden’s seven games recording 30 or more points led all players in the month of January. Harden’s most notable performance in the month came on Jan. 19, 2015, when he recorded a season-high 45 points, seven assists and four steals against the Indiana Pacers. James Harden recorded his NBA-leading third and fourth games of 30 or more points and 10 or more assists in the month. The first was a 31 point and 10 assist performance in a 112-101 victory vs. Oklahoma City on Jan. 15. The second came in a 33 point and 10 assist game in a 113-111 victory at Phoenix on Jan. 23 that included a game winning shot as time expired.
#beast Seriously. it is amazing to watch this man play. I am so glad i get to watch every rockets game on TV this year. Not that i missed any games the past years, but the laptop just isnt as nice(ballstreams or not). The things he is doing is ubsurd. He may become my favorite player of all time when it is all said and done. I love hakeem, but i was young when he was melting hearts. Dont get me wrong though, still my favorite player of all time. But im having a much stronger bond being able to watch every game harden plays.
Don't forget this gem on why Butler is a better scorer than Harden: http://www.bullsnation.net/statistically-offensive-why-jimmy-butler-is-a-better-scorer-than-james-harden/
HELL TO THE FREAKING YES! Congrats James! Can't believe the entire starting 5 of a team won the East. Has that been done before? Would be legit if Harden won February also. If so, he is surefire MVP.
Over the last two months (31 games), Harden is shooting .475 FG%, .407 3FG% and .875 FTs and .630 TS% while scoring 27ppg, with >5 assists and almost 7 rb/g
completely true.... october 28, 2012 will hold a special place in my heart Oh and **** Amin Elhassan...KlutchQT, you need to rub this in his face!
Really wasn't expecting thi because he didn't put up the numbers like he did in December and the Rockets' record wasn't as good. But wow! Congrats to him! We are not worthy! Make it three in a row! If he has three player of the months, the MVP is his. That's half a season basically.
Great..lets now trade him for a superstar Center, then when Howard healthy we trade him for superstar SG ... I am reading your mind Moray
but he aint really a basketball player doe not really sure if he's better than lin doe i know he averages 2spg and 1bpg, but he still aint a good defender doe he aint even dat good doe
a couple of days ago, i was thinking what were the chances of him winning it last month, and really thought klay would somehow snag it? this is special. this is history in the making. so blessed to have him rep this city!
