We couldn't even get close to affording that.

It would plausibly be possible to be under the tax with Harden, Love, Howard, Beverly, Parsons and Asik and then add some minimum guys and use some exceptions but I can't see any avenue where we get Love in a trade without giving up Asik and the Wolves definitely aren't taking Lin off our hands with Rubio already on the books and set for a big contract.

Sign and trade basically everybody for dwight, paul and smith.

    Paul/Beverley
    Harden/Anderson
    Parsons/Honeycutt
    J.Smith/Aldemir
    Howard/Smith

If paul, howard and smith took paycuts could this actually be possible?
With a team fulll of min contracts, and hardens contract that still counts for 5.8 mill right? Lol

Seems really, really, really..completely unrealstic even if it is possible...but if such opportunity was offered to them, how could they turn it down?

Very possible, i just realized there's no way Jennings resigns. Well, there is a chance, but I doubt it. The Bucks will be desperate for a PG and I think they'd take Lin out of our hands. We could then keep the 1st round pick or use it as part of a trade package.

Paul would have to take about a million dollar paycut in year one and Josh Smith would have to sign for around $10million for the first year of his contract. Asik, Lin, Jones, Motiejunas, Robinson, and White would all have to be shipped out in sign-and-trades.

That probably has a .0001% chance of happening.

Sorry but the paycuts would have to be much more drastic that what you are laying out here. If we trade away everyone (for future picks or second rounders only) except Harden, Beverley, Parsons, and Greg Smith then we would have a total of 18,883,936 in salary commitments (includes 5 minimum salary cap holds). Assuming the salary cap goes up to 60 millions that leaves us with 41.1 million.

Lets say Dwight takes a small cut to 20 million. That leaves 21 million for Paul and Smith. So Paul takes a smaller salary and signs for 15m and that leaves 6 million for Smith. No way possible. -100% chance of happening.

Rockets can have cap space of ~$18 million if they waive Delfino, Garcia, etc. Chris Paul's max starts at $18.7 million, so about a million dollar paycut to fit him. The next move would be to trade Asik & Lin in a sign and trade for Dwight Howard; they may need to be moved to a third team if the Lakers aren't interested. Then you package Robinson, Motiejunas, White, and Jones (~$8million) in a deal for Josh Smith (starting at $10 million for trade matching purposes); Atlanta wouldn't want 4 PFs so they would also need to be moved to another team.

A pretty useless exercise, but one I'm sure Morey has already done.

    Trade Harden for King James

    Sign Paul and Howard

Mchale to play PF (player coach)

Convince Teen Wolf to come out of retirement

    PG - Paul
    SG - Teen Wolf
    SF - King James
    PF - Mchale
    C- Howard

And yes please pass the pipe.....

Paul and Dwight talked a lot about joining up before, nearly did it. Harden is friends with Paul and apparently Houston is one of Dwight's most likely landing spots. Harden smiled and said maybe when they asked about recruiting Dwight to come to Houston. We can make it work with the cap space. It's not that too far out of the realm of possibility that we form a super team here. Very doubtful, but there is a small chance.

I like the Teen Wolf move. Another move to explore would be to see if Moses Guthrie (aka "The Fish that saved Pittsburgh") might be willing to come out of retirement and come off the bench for us?

Id honestly rather not have Paul...

Harden/Love/Dwight to me seems like a better trio than Paul/harden/Dwight...

Spacing seems better, and its easier to find complimentary guards than it is forwards...

Harden and Love are known friends, same age, and Love is coming up for free agency soon... If we can sign Dwight this off season,i can envision Love forcing his way to Houston, ala Carmelo...

We can sign Dwight by waiving delfino, Garcia, olbrecht, and either trading our second, or drafting a euro stash...

We can later trade for Love with asik, parsons, t.rob, multiple future 1sts...

Much more likely under new CBA than Paul and Dwight signing together...

    Harden-15 mill or so
    Love-15 mill or so
    Dwight-21 mill or so

So in essence your saving about 5 mill swapping Love for Paul, and gain better spacing...

you clearly don't know a thing about basketball. CP3 and Teen Wolf aren't a good fit because they are both ball dominant. I'd rather have Teen Wolf and Air Bud. Air Bud is a pass first pg who plays great D.

Agreed. Get Paul Gasol (who is readily available) for an instant upgrade of our PF position. He is still effective on the court and is a good passer/rebounder/scorer. Paul Gasol will add at least 10 games in the Rockets' winning column. A second star to be added should be an outstanding all-around shooter, someone of the caliber of Jamal Crawford or Luol Deng. This will solve our problem of frequent scoring drought.
