My perfect plot for the future:

Harden wins a chip with Nets 21 or 22, ticks his box.
By 2024 TF has been so broken he's already sold the team.
Harden joins HOU in 2024 on a two year 45M contract, under brand new ownership.
Rockets in the meantime converted the Nets forward 24+ picks to a superstar.
Harden pays his debt, and won another chip or two with the Houston Rockets.

IMO Houston should not retire his jersey until at least 2024.

“ I may come back guys” “I’m indebted”....blah blah blah...keeping hope alive for the harden die hards and apologists.

Cherish the 8 year run....but it’s time to move on, rebuild and start anew. We’re not the Cavs. And harden is not coming back.

I hate how it ended. Looking back, I wish we would have just traded him before the season started just so our lasting image of him was not that last press conference or the start of the season in general.

Because there was no way he was changing course. As much as we were in denial about him wanting out, or dismissing reports of him being uncharacteristically frustrated in practice or hoping none of this would have effect on the court, like his last words, this wasn't something that could be fixed.

It's almost like he saw how potentially good we could be in the first few games, then started tanking it because he wanted to be traded asap. As if he had a kneejerk reaction like clutchfans here. I hate that it ended this way, with it looking like he threw the team under the bus to accelerate a trade.

He owes the city quite a debt having destroyed their NBA franchise. I'd bet he never pays that off

What’s the point of that? No need for a Goodbye tour. Just freaking move on.

    I agree.
    It was all theater

    "I don't know. . . I am cool with alot of folx here and . . .. I don't want to look like an Ass." - James

People hear what they want to hear.

Eric Gordon said he didn't think Harden was throwing his teammates under the bus either.

Whatever, they were not going to trade him unless they were forced to do so, and that required James being the bad guy... so he spoke his mind and he was traded 18 hours later.

I'm truly hoping that the team recovers somewhat quickly and I never get to the stage of wanting him back (other than maybe as the owner buying the team out of Tillman's hands  --- nah not even that way)

Nope, don’t want him back. Wish him the best and I hope he wins in Brooklyn. But would never want him back again. I loved having him here and watching him becoming the player that he is but it’s time for new beginning and fresh start.

Good point....Are there any owners that are actually liked?? Philly/ Dallas maybe?

...these owners cut the checks - I’ll never understand a player not going to a team because of the owner who’s cutting said fat check.

...based on some of these posts you’d think Tillman was sterling 2.0.
