I agree we need canaan or papa at least to move the ball before he can take a game off. I really don't care if we lose the game (sounds weird) but if he continues to push at this level with these minutes and also what he's asked to do in those minutes he will suffer some form of injury! Obviously his minutes should decrease when Dwight is back.. He really should say to Dwight "I've been carrying us now you are back..get us some wins" If i had to pick I would say play against the Nuggets tomorrow and then take the DEC 17th (Nuggets in Denver) and DEC 18th (Pelicans Home) games off. That's a solid 7 day layoff. Dwight is rumored to be back Saturday so if Beverley and Dwight can't win those then why is Dwight making the MAX.? I guess some of us when we have a Shiny new toy take it out and play it into the ground until it breaks and loses its luster. I still have a CD Boombox from 1988 that works perfectly because I took extra care of it. Sit Harden Wednesday and Thursday!
Did you see the post-game TNT interview with James? The interviewer finished with "I bet you're ready to go to bed and get some rest." James said "Yeh." But then he quickly added, "But it never stops. We got another one Saturday." And then he walked away unaffected like he could ball all night. Harden..so not Charmin.
totally agree... i also think we should sit Ariza. Unfortunetly we are running out of other players to run out there.
He'll be fine. I think a lot of us are scarred from T-Mac and Yao. He's 25 and and only just beginning the prime of his career. Have faith in the trained professionals paid to take care of the athletes. If anyone knows when it's time for someone to take a break it's them.
You can't ride all of the guys that are 25 that much. MJ was probably one of the most durable guys ever...
Their schedule isn't bad? Are we looking at the same schedule? Five of their last six games of the month are: Pelicans, Hawks, Blazers, Grizzlies, Spurs. That's just about as tough as it gets...
A loss now is not going to kill us... but the minutes will. I would rather lose one game in December because we sit everybody than lose 3 because everyone is exhausted for a stretch.
I forgot, then the next night after the Spurs (like you mentioned) is the Wizards. Jesus. I mean I guess in terms of how much time off they get, it's not bad. But there's still a lot of traveling and a lot of tough as nuts teams that people will likely have long minutes in.
I think you guys are exaggerating the problem a bit. If everyone gets back before TOO long, Harden will be able to start playing more normal minutes and get some rest. And as has been mentioned, while our schedule is tough, there are at least some days off coming. Sure, if guys stay injured, and these minutes keep piling up into January, we're in trouble... but in that case, we're probably screwed, anyways.
Looks like I was right. Instead he keeps playing. Now has a minor injury and has been playing tired last two games. If this keeps up he will get a major injury.
Agree P. B. Should too, he lost a lot of his speed, seems he did't recover completely Good time too to insert the new acquired players into the rotation
It's like you want him to get a "major injury" just so you can be "right" In all seriousness, I think he should go every game this yr and just sit him in 4Q of blowouts and limit minutes dwn the stretch.
Beverley (34) / Shved (14) Harden (30) / Brewer (14) / Shved (4) Ariza (30) / Brewer (12) / Harden (6) DMo (26) / KPap (22) Howard (34) / DMo (4) / Black and Dorsey (10) The additions of Shved and Brewer will have a big impact on minute distributions. We now have 45 extra minutes to play at the 1, 2, and 3. That will help both Harden and Ariza. It also allows us to play Papanikolaou strictly as a 4, which is where I think the Rockets see him long term. And if we can lock up Dragic and Wright at the deadline.... Dragic (16) / Beverley (30) Harden (32) / Dragic (16) Ariza (28) / Brewer (20) DMo (25) / KPap (20) / Ariza (3) Dwight (30) / Wright (18) Harden and Dragic have the most minutes at 32 per. Of course this isn't exactly what things would look like, but it gives you an idea of the flexibility of the roster. A high quality 9 man rotation with scoring and rim protection at every level.
They are not out there logging, pouring concrete, or roofing as a redhead in july. They are playing... Basketball
