Why are Pacer fans coming to Clutchfans?

People fell on his bandwagon when his shot got hot, but it's cooled down and he is back where he was last year. His efficiency last year and this year is exactly the same. His ppg is only higher because he takes three more shots. His apg from last year to this year went from 4.1 to 3.5 and rpg from 7.6 to 6.5. So overall his game did not improve. Harden on the other hand, if you actually watch the Rockets, has a much improved midrange game, is much much better in the 4th quarter and is much improved in his post defense.

How exactly would Howard help Paul's efficiency? Howards not an elite offensive playmaker. Most of his points are garbage cleanup points and he's not the greatest passer. Practically everyones efficiency on the team is the same this year as it was last year. So...

Strawman. They're not comparing George's offense to Allen's. They're saying a talented offensive player is immensely more valuable than a talented defensive player.

He had an amazing start to the season offensively. His TS% since Jan 1: 52%.

Hardly above average. He's a great player, but he's nowhere near Harden's level offensively.

he probably isn't even a pacers fan. he just prematurely ejaculated and talked so much shet during PG's hot streak that he have to defend his useless arguments now. It's actually really pathetic the kind of straws he's grabbing at this point seeing PG has came back to Earth like most people expected.

He's like one of those people that thought Lin could maintain the Linsanity stats forever lmao. Like did he seriously expect a player to all of a sudden shoot 50% from the field when he was a career under 45% shooter, it's pretty laughable.

now he's just yelling "muh defense" to every argument, but the thing is PG was only considered to be better than Harden 3 months ago because of his offense outburst, PG has always been a better defender than Harden, everyone knew that, but just being a good defender and medicore on offense don't make you a star.

If you were following the conversation, you'd know the context of efficiency is specific to shooting. Bosh, LeBron, Wade's shooting% are through the roof.

    You know why you "forgot".

Go ahead and act like double-teamed post players don't lead to open jumpers.

    Sorry for the slow jog.
    Sincerely,
    Beard

    IDK, maybe..
    1) Howard drawing defenders
    2) Teams inability to key-in on Paul as much as they do now.

Maybe those 2 obvious things would help.

This is a Paul-Harden thread. Using a player clearly inferior offensively to ustify picking Harden over George is lame.

Perhaps you think Silver should bump us to #1 seed since we own the best record since New Years. Unfortunately, the entire season counts. Paul is .562 TS overall this year. Above average. The fact he's doing it on a weak offensive team as a #1 makes it far above average.

When the last time Harden only scored 2 points?

I did the research. As a Rocket the lost ever was 7 points in 17 minutes of play

In his career? He scored 2 points going 1-7 with OKC...in 2010.

Ok, that's nice. But no one on the Rockets is shooting significantly better this year than last. The idea that he's a wide open 3 point shot creator is a myth.

Your ability to miss the point is legendary. The point was to isolate the relative value of offense and defense. A guy who is an elite defender but a zero on offense is a role player. A guy who is an elite offensive player but is a zero on defense is a star. I don't care if Harden comes down and sits cross legged on defense, he's still more valuable than a lesser offensive player with good defense.

That is not to say George is a zero on offense. It is just to say that a decent offensive player with elite defense is not necessarily (and most likely not) equal to an elite offensive player with no defense.

And to that point...Harden isn't a zero. His defense has vastly improved.

I'm not saying the first two months don't count, I'm saying they're an outlier that, at this point, skew his stats upward.

LOL then what the hell have we been arguing about?

I don't think anyone here doesn't think George is a good player. It's just that he's not as good as Harden. I'd happily admit that George is a really good player.

Just calling out people who were fronting on George. This convo started 2 pages ago and led to this.

It's okay to give opposing players their props.
It's okay to knock your own players. It's all in love.. lol.

Might as well, you seem ignore simple statements anyways.

I take it from your total capitulation on using d-rating and that your main focus is now "WOT I REALLY MEAN IS FG%" you are conceding the inherent state of trollopery.

    Implicit doesn't count, Chica.

Signed letter on my desk tomorrow, tricky boy.

Nope, looks like the discussion doesn't end in November. What do you know...we actually had more games to play!

So will some of you people own up to this mess? This was just me going to a random page, this thread was REALLY silly at the start of the season.

Kept warning yall, dudes get hot and cold during the season. PG was hot at the start and could get hot again. The funny thing is Harden in his slump still put up top 5 offensive numbers while he was 'struggling'...and now that the games mean a little more and the urgency is there you see him picking up his defense.

Nah, trolling is saying stupid ish like "George is only good defensively because of his team". You didn't say it, but it's what led me to respond initially. In my FIRST response today, I said Harden was better. Go check the record. Posters conveniently bypassed that statement.

It's okay to give other players props.
It's okay to knock your own team hen necessary.
People just need to stop getting butt hurt about it.

btw- I never mentioned PER... all offensive efficiency in this thread involved shooting. Call me a troll if it makes you feel better.

It's cool though, man... I enjoyed the talk.

    Go Rockets!!
