Maurly signed a guy named Tucker for fairly cheap. I think he might do some good somewhere down the line. We are okay at 4 even though we are a little undersized.
Adding Melo to our lineup featuring Cp3 and Harden is no slouch at all. On Paper it looks fantastic but I'm willing to believe that these guys have enough left in the tank at this point in their careers to still be elite (especially CP3). If Melo is a wing or stretch spot up shooter ala Olympic team...that's still very plausible given that those roles do not require athleticism. He's proven he's a good scorer and can shoot it. That shouldn't change with the Rockets. I believe they'd have the firepower and talent to "hold a candle" to the Warriors....BUT the Warriors are unique in the make up of their 4 stars. Curry and Klay are the best shooters I've seen and they are still very young. KD is a VERY good scorer and VERY good shooter as well. The poster up above is right, no move would over take the Warriors. But adding Melo after already adding CP3 certainly is a gargantuan step towards that goal....and.....anything can happen. I just like how the Rockets have the potential to become a legit contender. The Warriors as constructed is just bad for the NBA regardless how you slice it or what moves are made.
Asking Melo to park at corner, take a backseat to CP3 and Harden ...? Just saying ... but I am fine with one year to see if it actually works.
Melo could average 25ppg doing that. I'm pretty sure Melo would love to be the Ray Allen of our big 3
But Lonzo is gonna lead the lakers to the playoffs in his first year. Also, I already bought the trophy for rookie of the year!
Only when there are other Alphas to hand feed and guide him. He still doesnt know how to run the triangle offense nor will he learn
I think that's a fair statement, assuming both teams are healthy. What it doesn't say is, can we win? I think we can. As good as Golden State is in today's NBA, if the history of the Rockets has shown me anything, it's that damn near any team not named the Celtics can be beaten in a playoff series. Sure, you need key guys getting hot at the right time, some great coaching, a bench player or two having a breakout game, and a lot of luck. Check the 1986 Western Conference Finals against the defending champion Showtime Lakers. We weren't supposed to have a chance. Writers were penciling the Lakers in as the series winner. We beat their ass. (Sorry, I still get excited thinking about that series!)
