Is this thread serious? Harden has been the most consistent player on the Rockets other than Asik (on the defensive end only).
Dumb thread but OP raises an interesting point that I have been thinking about for some time. In the post season it will be interesting to see how it is for Harden as the man. There will be a lot of tough playoff hard fouls & if the refs aren't as loose with the whistle etc. Also against aggressive defenses as well.
"Harden has been rolling since the All-Star break with averages of 27.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, 7.2 assists, 1.9 steals and a whopping 3.6 3-pointers per game. Harden is shooting 46.7 percent from deep over that span." "He’s a living, breathing fantasy machine on offense with 67.1 percent of his field goal coming at the rim or from downtown, adding a stellar 85.2 percent at the charity stripe at a 10.0 shot-per-game clip. Harden has reached superstar status this year." "Harden has been the engine to the NBA’s fastest paced offense and also leads the NBA in fastbreak points per game by a sizable 1.5 points this year. There shouldn't even be an argument about which player should come off the board at three in fantasy drafts for next year right now." Quoted these from rotoworld.com which is a well known site for fantasy hoops data. Since you're basing your assessments on stats, then there's no way an inconsistent player would be rated a top 3(LeBron, Durant, Harden) fantasy player. He's also leading the youngest and least experienced team in the NBA on their first season together to the playoffs when it's supposed to be year 1 of our rebuilding season. As i've said over and over again, a brand new team this young and inexperienced on their first year together shouldn't even be this successful based on how young teams have performed in the league's 67-year history. To put this into perspective, just take the Hornets for example. That team is just as young and talented as we are with Eric Gordon, Anthony Davis, Ryan Anderson, Greivis Vasquez, Al Farouq Aminu, Robin Lopez, Jason Smith, Roger Mason, etc.. And look where they're at. On pace to finish with the worst record in the West.
Sorry I was at work, I meant. Many people know that in "Linsanity" with the Knicks, Jeremy had all the calls. He even received phantom calls from Nets and Jazz in his 1st and 2nd game. Lin is a above average PG. He's improving his game, his mid range jumper and 3pt% is going up. Now about Harden, http://espn.go.com/nba/player/gamelog/_/id/3992/james-harden 1st thing 1st is Harden getting to the paint and getting fouled. Have many people thought what will happen when he doesn't get all the calls? Sure many people will say he will always get the calls. But let me tell you this, when we're down by 1 point and have 14 seconds left in the clock and he goes ISO, and drives to the paint. Most likely we won't get a foul call here. The refs will more likely let the players play in the final minutes, and let the small things stay aside. I have seen almost all of the Rockets game this season, but I have never seen Harden throw a mid range jumper. Period. When I see him shoot, it's behind the arc or either in the paint. If we somehow get the #6 seed and Memphis gets the #3 seed, it would be a sight to see Tony Allen against Harden. Also Harden could defend, but he's too lazy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=63TDVWnZ5K8
The bolded part, it's laughable to imbedding a Youtube then called someone 'too lazy.' If that's the case, I can imbed a youtube on Dwight, Duncan, LeBron where they goofed or lost focus on a play and call them "too lazy." Does that justify my point? If you can't come up with statistics to backup your point of being 'lazy' on defense, you are just not knowledgeable about bball. Statistical data show Harden might have negative impact on defense but it's really minimum. Something like less than one point per 100 possessions when he is on and off the floor. No, I don't believe you are a troll. I think you are just not very knowledgeable.
you must not be watching the game very closely if you've seen almost every Rox game this season and you've missed every single one of Harden's one hundred eighty six shots from mid range. I bet you've also never seen your favorite player Jeremy Lin take a mid range shot for the Rockets either right? he's taken less of them than Harden has this season.
The guy has put up at least 20 points in basically every game this season. He's consistent. Why am I even replying to this nonsense?
So now the truth comes out... Basically you're bored and just want to start crap on the GARM.... The GARM is at peace right now and you just felt like starting some BS... Dude grow up...
Hmmmm... what's a polite way to say OP is a ****ing moron? How about this: listen more, talk less. You clearly need to learn more about basketball so you don't embarrass yourself like this in the future.
So apparently you're not even commenting on his consistency, just the fact that he relies on FTAs. Fine. Harden's numbers in 13 games when he shoots 6 FTAs or less*: 24.8pts, 4.9 reb, 6.9 ast .469 / .416 / .864 shooting There is literally nothing defensible about this thread. *excludes the Utah game when he was sick and only played 17min
