Harden has been icing knees and putting heat on legs for months now, I’ve never seen that before from James... all those blowouts and Mike keeping him in for no reason at all - specially when Harden doesn’t take games off

then why play in the 4th quarter yesterday when we were blown out with no chance of winning?

if true, it is Hardens logic like this that infuriates Rocket fans.

He should take a week off. We will still make playoffs (7th or 8th seed) and come out fresh in the playoffs

If he is so tired, he should let Dantoni know and rest a bit

Keep in mind just a game a go Russ sat out of a back to back completely

Kawhi sat out a ton of games this year

There is no issue with telling the coach you are tired

Rather have that and be fresh for other games than the poor performance as of late

usually players peak is around 27-28 and decline from there so a Harden decline was coming sooner rather than later

... because that would solve the declining problem, right?

??? I would think players peak in early 30's. They might reach their athletic peak around 27-28, but they continue to refine and progress their game, until eventually athletic decline outweighs that. Somewhere in the mid 30's or so. Certainly not at 27-28. That's when they're really starting to understand the game.

Dantoni is really just so stupid that he needs harden to let him know not to play him 40 minutes a night?

Here are his monthly scoring breakdowns. Didnt feel like taking the time to put in every single box score number but generally his other counting numbers are pretty steady. What makes Harden is his scoring.

    October/November(19 games) : 39 points 45/36/87 splits 24 shots 14.5 FTA which is .639 TS%
    December(14 games) : 37 points 48/43/85 splits 24.5 shots and 9.5 FTA which is .647 TS%
    January(12 games) : 29 points 36/27/87 splits 21.6 shots and 11.7 FTA which is .535 TS%
    February(11 games) : 32 points 46/38/87 splits 20.8 shots and 9.8 FTA which is .645 TS%
    March(4 games) : 26 points 34/19/86 splits 20 shots and 12.8 FTA which is .508 TS%

Monthly breakdown of teams net rating with Harden and Westbrook on/off

    October/November
    Harden NO Westbrook : +12.5
    Harden AND Westbrook : +10.1
    Westbrook NO Harden : -13.0

    December
    Harden NO Westbrook : +9.6
    Westbrook NO Harden : +6.5
    Harden AND Westbrook : +5.4

    January
    Westbrook NO Harden : +9.0
    Harden AND Westbrook : -1.3
    Harden NO Westbrook : -3.7

    February
    Harden AND Westbrook : +16.6
    Harden NO Westbrook : +11.5
    Westbrook NO Harden : +1.6

    March
    Harden NO Westbrook : -2.5
    Harden AND Westbrook : -18.2
    Westbrook NO Harden : -29.2

When you break it down monthly, production and team efficiency wise, January and these few games to start March stand out as outliers. If I had to make a guess based off that, I’d say playing through injury was a possible culprit in January. February he started to feel better and he and the team took off...... March has been a complete mess for everyone.....Just not so sure I would call this an obvious decline just yet. February was awesome. Our best month. January was before the small ball. I really think that month had to have something to do with injury. I think we can find a way to recapture what we had going in February. Time will tell.

    Those are mutually exclusive

    Russ has heart and rests

    Kawhi has heart and rests

You can show heart ON THE COURT but busting ass

If Harden is indeed tired, would be great for him to sit out against Wolves (easy game) and rest up and show up Lebron when we play Lakers. That will get us back on track

Harden is tired, maybe some load management and he can find a second wind for the play-offs...
