Yep. He has all the makings of a superstar. He's got the inside-outside game, the ability to draw fouls (the two are closely linked), he just needs to be able to make shots against tough defenses. If we every want to advance to the Western Finals James Harden has to learn how to consistently make shots over elite defenders and shot blockers.

Comparing Kobe's 34-year old game with James Harden, you see that although Kobe is a lot slower than Harden, he doesn't try to draw the foul - he sidesteps defenders to get a better look at the rim. If Harden can learn to stop on a dime and change direction like Kobe, it would really help his game. Right now Harden is one speed and one move - full speed and euro step. He needs to develop some gears in his game and play on different levels in order to truly become a superstar. And we're not even discussing his defensive woes...

Forget comparing him to Kobe...look at him as a young D Wade...he is gonna get better...with time...he needs to open his vision a bit more...and attack before a defense sets on him...Same with Lin...quit picking up the dribble...keep probing...and dont let a trap double happen at midcourt...

Except young DWade was already an all star level his rookie year and a full blown superstar by his 2nd season.

That's one of the things i hate about "potential." If you're not a superstar by your 4th season, chances are you never will.

James Harden is a bigger version of Baron Davis.

Harden has shown plenty of Superstar material...in the playoffs for OKC, and now here. Harden might just be a piece, but he is 23. He is a baller, and won a lot of games for OKC...almost at times...on his own.

Well that's your opinion of course and i disagree. Love Harden, but he will be an all star level guy most of his career never hitting super stardom. No one on our roster will..

Kinda hard to be a superstar when the players your playing with are Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook...OKC had so much talent by the time Harden came to the team...

Year One DW: 13.1 shots per game
Year One JH: 7 shots per game

First year as a full time starter JH:17.2 shots per game (22.1ppg)
Year 2 DW: 17.1 shots per game (24.1 ppg)

D Wade was also a badass defender.

maybe Harden can recruit a few more defensive players to hide his own defensive incapabilities and so he can continue to chuck away the games

I don't know... if you look through his post history. It's not that tough to see.

    After the Lakers game.
    To summarize:
Sampson sucks. Don't take out Lin because he plays tough D and gets his team mates involved. Also don't take out young players like Lin, it makes them lose confidence. But go ahead and take out Harden. Despite the fact he's younger than Lin, and was making plays at the end of the Lakers game. Also he's a chucker. And Douglas sucks, and doesn't deserve to play even when he's clearly outperforming Lin.

Well, for the people who were criticizing Harden for wanting better teammates... You can't really fault him for it, not after watching this game. He's the only one stepping up.

    On my NBA2k MYCAREER mode....

Jeremy Lin leads the MVP race going into February...he has two other Rockets on the list.

James Harden and Dwight Howard...with how the Lakers are playing and if they continue to suck like this Howard may be packing his bags soon...

Trading for Howard before the trade deadline is a realistic possibilily. The lakers suck right now. Howard is not a great fit for D'antoni's system. I can totally see Howard threaten the Lakers front office by saying he wont resign in the offseason.

The reason I bought it up is because...

I agree here. If the Lakers continue to suck things are going to just bottom out. Kobe is going to get pissed and point fingers and create hell there, Dwight will be thinking "What the hell did I get myself into?" then realize that he is a UFA at the end of the year.
