Stats-only evaluation? Selective sample size? Daryl Morey is that you? Lol. Let's evaluate his career as a whole if we are going to talk about his validation as a leader.
The only reason Harden is ahead of Lowry is Bill Worrell. That's not conspiracy just STUPIDITY of an old ass man.
this is the first year he led Toronto out of the first round...so I guess it will be a short conversation
Kyle Lowry contributes much more than just offense, but you don't understand anything outside of a box score. Lowry playing through his injury is not a fault. It's only another sign of his leadership that earned him even the slightest of MVP considerations.
again, you don't have any proof that lowy's pathetic playoff performance is caused by injuries. in fact, direct words from lowry supports my view that he shrunk up mentally. also, he was equally as bad last year, what was his excuse? being fat? toronto fans are infuriated with him now, and are demanding to play corey joseph more over lowry. no one respects him anymore, and the only reason lowry has not been #1 target is because DeRozan has been even worse.
Boring to you, maybe. It's won him two MVPs and a championship so far. If there are more Curry's ten years from now, more power to them too. Maybe we should take those awards away and give them to Westbrook instead because he's more flashy.
You can bring the horse to the water, but you can't force it to drink. Lowry is the LAST of Toronto's problems.
Toronto fans are infuriated with him in the way Rockets fans are infuriated with Harden. They will get over it, as should we. Lowry is never going to make excuses for his poor play. That's just not the kind of person he is. He will shoulder the load when needed and accept the blame in defeat which is what a true leader does. He earned his status as an all-star.
No, toronto fans are much more serious about trading lowry & derozan away because they both have been so bad in the playoffs that Harden's worst playoff year easily dwarfs their best playoff year. http://www.thescore.com/nba/news/1013931 also, lowry said he didn't play well in last year's playoffs because he was fat. that's an excuse.
spark06 was talking about lowry not making excuses, but he has a history of making excuses. that's all i'm saying.
maybe if he lead the horse better it would know how to drink water? it's really not that difficult...especially if its a hot day...
Let's be honest here. Lowry is a great player and a great leader, but he is not in Harden's league in terms of talent. The sole reason he was ever good enough to be in the conversation with Harden this season was he busted his butt while Harden got fat. Harden should be ashamed that he's getting compared to Lowry. I guess maybe because when you compare him to Curry, KD, WB, Leonard, and LeBron he falls short in every way.
that seems much more difficult than leading one to water...obviously Harden has superior leadership skills.
The MVP voting result shouldn't be read as the list of most talented players. It's just a reflection of individual + team accomplishment, where the second part is pretty much out of your control even when you're the best guy on the team because it takes five player to win, not one. If we are strictly talking about talent, AD should be included in top 10 and Cousins instead of Lowry. Some guys get way too much credit for team success. Kawhi is not more talented than Lebron or KD, San Antonio went 7-3 without him this season and had no trouble winning. It's his team that makes Kawhi look like more of a great player than he really is.
So Spurs' winning percentage was 70% without Kawhi and 83.3% with Kawhi. That's a pretty big difference to me. Not this BS again.
