On the contrary. Win shares decreases if your team has less wins for you to share in the responsibility for.
Because we dont have a backup point guard. So its an empty pg spot. Unless you want to trade Ariza or Brewer.
Terry CAN play backup PG however. Canaan has been recalled and Alexi is still good as a 3rd or 4th string option. I am not disagreeing that we can use an upgrade, just confused why so many people feel that our playmaker has to be a PG.
Because most playmakers are PG's? I'm talking about players that can create and make plays for others not just themselves. The majority of playmakers that can create for others are PG's and the few select that aren't are basically untouchable.
Completely different context. Davis is a big, Jordan was a guard. I do agree though, Davis is a beast. It almost makes you wonder how the NBA owned team (the then Hornets) pulled off such a pick, let alone scoring a number one pick. Hmmm...
Hey listen I'm on the Canaan bandwagon, so if you are sayign they are actually going to play him fine. If not we still need a playmaker.
My initial thought was exactly this However, I also thought about the word "valuable" and what that exactly means. Someone's comment about Harden leading the league in scoring and being playoff bound over Davis and his lottery team made me come up with an easier way to grasp that philosophy. Anthony Davis is a 100k car, a Ferrari perhaps, but withe no roads to drive on. The value of the car isnt necessarily depreciated but it's uselessness renders it less "valuable" Where as Harden is an 80k car (we can say a Corvette) but with paved roads leading him anywhere he wants to take it. Less expensive but the utility and opportunity gives Harden infinitely more value
This. Glass half full: Harden is great! Glass half empty: All our eggs are in one basket! BTW, I am a glass half empty kind of guy. Maybe Morey is too.
Here's a little collection of some of my favorite stats I put together for players I was interested in seeing them for. All of these are pulled from NBA.com/stats or from NBAsavant.com. Note that these stats are not be-all end-all argument destroyers... all of these have context that can't be shown in a table. Spoiler What's craziest about Harden's season is the combination of PPG, TS%, and % of FGM unassisted.
