Ryan Bowen is as good as Hakeem, if not better.

Why does Harden need postseason success to surpass T-Mac or Yao? Isn't not like either of them really had any, and they were playing together.

Yao didn't play with T-Mac when the rockets were rolling in 09'. I think they could have beaten the lakers, and then the nuggets that year.

God I wish we had Prime Yao besides Howard..
Amazing post, mid range and FT shooter.
And i believe the league has evolved enough to were Yao would get more calls and have less games in foul trouble.

Better than T-Mac, Yao, Dwight, or Stevie Franchise? Hmm. Maybe. It's pretty close. If he keeps up this level of play through the playoffs I'll be onboard I guess.

I'm waiting for postseason results. But it's absolutely in play.

well harden was the first rocket to make the all nba first team since hakeem, so he's already moved past there, now for the post season

    one word: Longevity

If harden stays consistently good year in and year out...he will be the best rocket since Hakeem.
Also a deep playoff run would be great.

The only thing Tmac and Yao gave us consistently were playoff losses and injuries, it's not exactly a high bar he's aiming at.

He did play with T-Mac when we lost in the playoffs in 04 and 05.

I think we could have had great playoff success if those two weren't hurt. But they were, and we didn't.

We never had real playoff success with those two, and they played together.

Yao seemed like a great guy, was a great teammate, but his injuries made him our Amare contract, was even worse than Tracy in that it was 2 playoff series, followed with 2 complete years and we got nothing for him (whereas Tracy got us 2 parts of the Harden trade), he basically gave 1 year of value (Carlos Boozer...) on a 5 year max, great guy, worst contract in team history in terms of basketball value, and we've had some real ****ty ones.

Definitely greater than Steve. Steve, as much as he was entertaining, he was a playground player. A shooting guard mentality trapped in a point guard body. This guy wanted the Rockets to draft Lamar Odom so that Odom could run the break while he and Mobley ran the wings.

If Harden can sustain a similar level of play for the season and the Rockets surpass 57 wins, then I have no problems giving him the edge on McGrady. Harden is close but he needs to show a little more.

Same thing with Yao but Harden should get some playoff success too. Particularly, have a great playoffs.

You know how many playoff games T-mac played with the Rockets?

    20

You know how many playoff games Hakeem played with Rockets?

    140

Don't ever compare Hakeem to T-Mac. It's not even close. Like comparing steak to dog food.

Tmac before the injuries was the best individual player we've had since Hakeem.

Yao is the most accomplished player we've had since Hakeem.

Francis was the most entertaining player we've had since Hakeem.

Harden is the best leader we've had since Hakeem, in that he really does make the players around him better. Which is something Tmac and even Yao were not as good at.
