True, but this is not what was claimed. False, it is discredited by the very data originally provided and is fully understood by everyone who thinks about it. PPFGA goes down as usage goes up. Yes, the intention is clear, but it is absolutely certain that Harden would not maintain efficiency with increased usage because (a) no one ever does, and (b) because the coach, Harden and the team would be failing spectacularly by not doing so if that were possible. What Harden is doing is hard, if he took more shots they'd be worse shots not better ones. The ones getting "bent out of shape" are those trying to bully me for disagreeing. Don't think for a moment that I care about who agrees with you vs. me. Also, I have gotten likes for my comments, not that's it's remotely important or validating. People don't universally agree with you just because you say so or a few dolts jump to your defense. Pure projection here. "Vomit" means anyone who doesn't take your side. I insult those who insult me. Anyone reading the thread objectively will see that. My first post was entirely "about the data", it didn't take you long to call me a troll despite the fact that I was doing exactly what you suggest I do now. Perhaps you should take your own advice. If you wish to change your claim to Harden is amazingly efficient, no one would disagree. The season is young, however, and the goal is for the team to win, not for Harden to meet some statistical goal. Great stats on losing efforts are for Westbrook fans, Harden is better than that.
Since Harden has been on a tear after the Jazz game in Utah the Rockets are 7-2 so his points are equating to wins and not stat padding. He is carrying this franchise on his back
With his 45 point performance on only 26 shots tonight, Harden is now averaging 1.5 points per Field Goal Attempt for the season. He also passed Jordan's 89 and 93 seasons to check in at 21st on the all-time scoring list for PPG in a season. He's climbing the list with a bullet.
Harden now 20th on the all-time list of PPG passing Bernard King's 1985 season. If he has another 40 point game against Memphis he'll jump to 18th. Crazy!
Harden is leading the NBA in scoring by 4.4 ppg...he is averaging 33 a night while KD is 2nd at 28.6 he is doing this while being assisted on only 13.2% of his made field goals which is the 2nd lowest in the league behind Chris Paul at 11.7%...for a comparison, Steph gets assisted on 57.1% of his made field goals, KD gets assisted on 42.5%, Dame gets assisted on 31.8%, Lebron gets assisted on 30.6%, and Russ gets assisted on 25.8% Harden gets assisted on only 13% of his threes which is by far the lowest in the league...next closest is CP3 at 22.6%, and then Lebron at 29.4%...yet Harden is shooting 38.3% on a whopping 11.9 attempts a night there are only 5 guys in the NBA getting assisted on less than 40% of their threes (technically 6, but I excluded Jared Bayless because he’s only played in 3 games), and none of them come close to Harden’s volume...the 5 players are Harden, CP3, Bron, Rondo, and Frank Mason...there’s only 12 guys getting assisted on less than 50% of their threes this is 1 of the GOAT offensive seasons, especially when u factor in the efficiency at his usage rate and the degree of difficulty
I've been thinking about the magnificence of Harden a lot. We are witnessing an epic offensive player. He plays for us. He is ours. And it feels like only a fraction of Rocket's fans even get it. I'm not surprised by how much hate Harden gets nationally because he doesn't get enough love locally if you ask me. He has a similar quality to Hakeem in the way his game is evolving from year to year. There was a moment in Hakeem's development that he seemed to come back each season with a new move or some new angle to take his game to another level. Harden seems to be cut from the same cloth. Hearing Barkely ask the question the other night if perhaps Harden hadn't become the greatest offensive player in the NBA history was confirmation. And Shaq didn't argue. It wasn't a settled question, but the fact that he was getting that kind of respect from those two was a sign for me that Harden is who we already know he is, a generational type talent.

It’s scary, to me, to be so old I can remember them changing the court dimensions because of Wilt. That last week of the 82 season was amazing, that show David Thompson and George Gervin put on, trading 60+ points games going after the scoring title.
43 against Memphis - just as we ordered. Harden now 18th on the all-time list passing 1980 Gervin and 2006 Iverson. Next up 1966 Wilt and 1990 MJ.
Comparing eras is not worth it at this point I only care about the playoffs Harden has proven to be great in the regular season already, hence the mvp
IT in the nba tv pre game basically saying there are a lot of guys in the league who could do what Harden is doing if they had the ball that much.
