Curious, didn't they want any of the stuff for future use? For someone who is losing their home they are sure throwing away a lot of their stuff.
People amaze me sometimes...That's why I would hate to have renters...They just don't give a crap...Opps, no pun intended...
That can go both ways. I've had apartments screw me on the deposit even though I left it spotless, including cleaning out the fridge and wiping it down. The WORST though was when I was leasing a house in Bellaire. The landlord came to me when the lease was up and told me it wan't goiung to be renewed because he had sold it to a construction firm who would be tearing down the house. We still cleaned everything out, but we tore open a couple of screens in the sunroom for easier access. The b*stard charged us the full deposit for "damage". I wanted to punch him.
I hope you called a junk man. Usually they'll buy some of the stuff in pictures, like the washer and dryer, couches, refrigerators etc. Can you fill us in on a little more info about the foreclosure? I've been wondering about those. How did you find it? Did you get it at an auction? Did you get a super cutrate deal? Did you get a chance to inspect the house first? Any other considerations you had before buying it? Thanks
The county I live tells you the time and date of the auction and how much deposit you need at the time of auction. It is a very good deal for the area and the size of the home and yard. I was not able to enter the house till I had the deed in my hand, nearly three months after the auction. My main fear was them wrecking the house structurally. The mess was the least of my worries (it really just amazed me.) I was afraid of concrete getting poured down the sink, copper pipes being ripped out etc,. If I ever do this again, I think i'll get a lawyer next time, hopefully the process would be speedier.
