Well you'll have to excuse me for calling someone racist for going on to a racist website, making an account, and saying that he supports a lot of their cause. How about you cut out the bull **** conservatives are racists talk? How about crazy (generally uneducated) people are racists? Again, you'll find that every Neo-Nazi group supports the tenets of national socialism, so how about I say that every race baiting fool is a democrat with equal conviction?
Or that part was written before the 2008 election. The text and the graph were from two different things. Strom Thurmond is a strange example for you to mention: "The longtime South Carolina senator was representative of the trajectory so many Southern Democrats embarked on in the 1960s. As the Democrats abandoned their longtime hostility to African-Americans’ civil rights in the 1940s, Thurmond and his compatriots moved to the Republican Party. Thurmond quit the Democratic Party at the high-water mark of the civil-rights revolution [1964], helped Barry Goldwater win five Deep South states in 1964, and led a historic shift of white Southerners into the GOP." Read up on the southern strategy (although some conservatives like to pretend it never happened, so if you want some revisionist history that allows you to ignore it, you can find that too).
Again, I won't hash out Goldwater's philosophic opposition to the bill , but they differ from Strom's. And you want to talk revisionist history? Take a look at this (something that Al Sharpton didn't know and laughably repeated this misconception on national TV): House of Representatives: Democrats for:****** 152 Democrats against:*** 96 Republicans for:**** 138 Republicans against: 34* Senate: Democrats for:******* 46 Democrats against:*** 21 Republicans for:***** 27 Republicans against:** 6 But all those democrats must've just been republicans in hiding huh?
I didn't call anyone racist; just the opposite, in fact. I don't consider the standard conservative talking points when it comes to race to be racist or all that offensive even (though the latter is obviously subjective). Its just a different perspective. I'm sorry that I offended you by implying that there is a not insignificant overlap between this perspective and the sentiments expressed by some members of that white supremacist forum. In any case, whatever this guy posted on that forum years ago is just irrelevant to the topic at hand. Harden's unpopularity among basketball fans derives totally from the manner in which he plays and his attitude. I don't know why people are bringing race into it.
[This thread was below a one-star thread to begin with, so we might as well keep going. ] From a 2011 University of Washington poll/survey of white people: Question: are blacks hardworking? 35% of true believers in the Tea Party said yes 55% of true skeptics of the Tea Party said yes Numbers like this sure seem to suggest that conservatives are more racist. To be fair, it doesn't mean that all true believers in the Tea Party are more racist. Just a significant number of them. But it's a literal fact that 1964 signaled a huge shift at the national level for how people in the South voted. Many democrats became republicans after that vote. Also, look at what happens when you control those votes for geography/which states were union or confederacy:
I'll end my digust with this thread, point of view, and obvious revisionist history by saying I think anyone who is truly racist is probably somewhat senile, just like mass shooters. Politics don't have any bearing on racism and guns don't walk around shooting people, it's just that crazy people use them as tools to effect their ridiculous agendas.
Because that's what haters: say when they hate black athletes. He gets by on athleticism. Other races have to work hard. We come out the womb hooping.
If you don't understand stick to the numbers stats boy. I'm not arguing I'm telling you. Is there a stat for last? Lol
Point out one person who said Harden gets by based on his athleticism. No one says this. Harden is an OK athlete but that's not what sets him apart. And the notion that people only criticize Harden's defense because he's black has to be one of the strangest arguments I've heard since I've been here. Because non-black players are rarely called out for piss-poor defense, right? What a joke.
Spoken like a truly ignorant fool. I don't know if you can even comprehend the irony and hypocrisy of this statement. There is some sort of bar or threshold that must be passed before racism becomes "true racism"? Anything barely below the arbitrary bar is suddenly not racism? How do people qualify as racists to meet your standards? How many cross burnings or lynchings does it take? Is there a point system for assaults, intimidations, job denials? Denying the impact and pervasiveness of racism, is itself a form of racism. If you don't understand this, then you are lost. Go watch your fox news, be sure to buy plenty of gold, and stock up on ammo, you're gonna need it when the kenyan socialist muslin comes to steal your tax money. You nutcases are a dime a dozen.
Stop trying to deflect by making it about Lin fans. Most NBA fans outside of Houston really dislike the way Harden plays, especially the cringe worthy defensive efforts. You think it's because they're all Asian? There are legitimate reasons to be annoyed with the way Harden plays. Turning it into a topic about race is just a way to avoid discussing the issue head on -- Harden's commitment to the team goal of winning leaves something to be desired and indicates he still has some growing up to do.
this thread is about in fans. you're deflecting. the discussion was about stormfront, you don't want confront that. harden doesn't care about winning? what stat told you that?
this is the same guy who was a third round pick a budding star and accepted a sixth man role on a team that went to the finals. what stat tells you he doesn't care about winning. pull your head of your stats. im not arguing i'm telling you
