Jesus. Now we are crying about Harden not being a great role model, and how he treats his teammates? Really? Jordan, Hakeem (before he went spirtial or whatever), Thomas, Kobe, Shaq. Those are just a few, FEW guys who were known to be a55holes on the court, that called out their teammates, that acted like kids, some cheated, some might have raped, some lied. Know what else they have in common? They have 19 titles between them (if my math is correct), I can't even count the MVPs. Look at Duncan, even he acts like a kid sometimes. He cries and whines on every call. is that a good role model? No. Harden is here for 1 reason. To win a championship. What he does on his time is his business...unless it impacts the Rockets on the court, ala out of shape like White.
The way I see it is this (and I've never been in the military, so I probably have no credibility using this analogy) - you have no control over who you're in a foxhole with. You may despise the guy. BUT - you had better have his back and he had better have yours, b/c you both have big things in common: wanting to win the war and survive. So, there may be things about Harden I don't like, but I've got his back. Cuz we have one thing in common - desperately wanting another Rockets' championship!!!!!
Ha Ha Really? Harden is here to win a championship LMAO! He's here to pad his stats--he's nothing but "Melo Lite". He only cares about hoisting up inefficiently enough shots t get his 25, plays no D, whines at every "non-call", and is an ego-driven maniac a la Melo. What has Harden ever done in the playoffs? Absolutely nothing. At OKC he choked against the Heat, putting up one of the worst finals shooting performance of all time. Last year in the playoffs he threw up 30 shots to make 7, and was a complete non-factor. His selfishness, ISO ball-hogging and no D jogging back to the other end of the court will get him nowhere. It's really not easy to root for Harden as it is not to root for Melo. A me, me ,me world results in a team going, nowhere, nowhere, nowhere in the playoffs world. Here to win a championship? Laughable. A sick joke.
He is who he is. So long he is still able to keep his character in check well enough and not let his talent go to waste, I'm fine with him. (Though I agree he should change for the better but still.....)
Lin fans with the constant melo comparisons. I know you guys just started watching basketball 2 years ago, but you should really use some variety.
How are the Knicks' players the barometer for everything Rockets since 2012? What does Melo have to do with Harden any more than any other scorer? Why does "Shump" constantly get tossed around on trade rumors? Why did we need a finisher around the rim like Chandler last year? Stuff gets old.
I don't get why a player's personal lifestyle would affect whether or not you cheer for that guy on the court. As long as he gives it his all on the court, i will cheer for the man. Don't care if his favorite activity is going to a club, going to a strip club, visiting a hospital or going to church. That is their choice. I dont get how people can be so judgmental of others.
