I'd ask why wouldn't the democrats be open to a common sense compromise on the delay of other parts of Obamacare, which Obama himself has already chosen to delay pieces of?

    makes no sense

Then you're asking the wrong question. The time for Republicans to change or delay the bill was when it was crafted or introduced.

You don't come back later and hold the govt. budget hostage and demand changes you couldn't get through the the legislative process.

If someone does make those demands it isn't incumbent on the President or Democrats to give into those making the ransom demands just because they lowered their demands.

Is your position that the U.S. should give in to ransom demands when groups kidnap American citizens?

Yes he did. That doesn't change anything except that it delays the employer mandate.

The argument makes no sense about the Republicans holding the govt. budget hostage to try and change a law that was shown to be constitutional by the Supreme court.

The question to ask is why the Republicans are shutting down the govt. The best way to avoid a shutdown would be for the Republicans to not force one. End of story.

The GOP asked to delay Obamacare. Which is exactly what Obama did to pieces of the plan. So it makes total sense.

They didn't ask to delay it. The threatened not to fund the govt. if it wasn't done.

The issue of ACA was already decided by congress and the supreme court.

Your willingness to give into ransom demands has already been noted. We get it.

    What's more important to you?

    A) Getting health care right
    B) Not having the IRS, National Parks and the EPA open for a period of time during a partial government shutdown?

Never would have gotten through with senators like Lieberman and Baucus at the choke points.

    One step at a time.

Even when laws have been written down, they ought not always to remain unaltered.

In a democracy the poor will have more power than the rich, because there are more of them, and the will of the majority is supreme.

What might be most important of all is that your lack of understanding about what the govt. shutdown entails be rectified.

I had no idea you were so clueless.
