Ralph Sampson's shot was way bigger than Mario's shot, Mario's shot was not even at the buzzer. Sampson's shot sent the Rockets to the finals vs the defending NBA champion Lakers. The Rockets were the only team to beat the Lakers in the 80's that is what makes that shot so great. The Lakers were unbeatable in the western conference in the 80's. If not for some superhuman efforts by the Rockets in 81 and 86 your looking at a 10 year run by the Lakers at least making it to the finals.

The Freak-First of all who needs things to do when you've got a high speed connection??, Anyway, my bad, I thought we won the series....are you sure, because I was at the last game of the series...wait Vernon hit the game winner in that one and the one before, you might be right. I know Vernon hit at least two game winners against the Spurs that season, though I'm leaning towards three Anyway, at least late in the season we were whipping em courtesy of Vmax.

LOOK! Mario's was good, but it wasn't that freaking good. He was open, it wasn't at the buzzer, he had like 65 seconds to shoot the shot, the Rockets made thier two championship season with shots like that, not that unordinary.Mario was the man, for sure, but DEFINATELY not the best shot.
I'm sorry, but the simple fact is that Game one of the 95 finals is one of the best Rockets games ever. Watch it sometime, it's non stop crazyness. Both teams poured everything they had into that game, and Kenny elevated and would not be stopped. You guys and your preassure theories, that crap is Bob Costas logic, and the words of Rudy T, as heard by a friend of mine who drank with him once, "Bob Costas doesn't know sh*t!". You people just make that pressure stuff up. Turn the volume down when you watch games.

Hakeem was amazing, but that's what he was suposed to do. Your super star must elevate and hit that type of shot in the Finals, or else you will not win. Example, Karl Malone plays well in the Finals, but has never elevated for the Finals = he loses.

Kenny Smith was an aging, defense less, fan less, respectless point guard who broke the series. Game 1 was the series, and Kenny Smith was game 1, watch it sometime.

OH MY LORD!!! DO YOU REMEMBER THE SHOTS CASSEL WAS HITTING AGAINST THE KNICKS???? Mario was wide open, Cassel was a rookie and was draining them in the faces of very good defenders.

Also, as for Ralph, we were playing the Lakers!!! You know, Majic Johnson, Kareem Abdul Jabaar!!! Kareem worked out for the entire off season because he was having Ralph Sampson/Hakeem flashbacks, and came back in better shape than he had been in for years. That was "the" shot. I'm sorry, you guys lose.
