Thank heaven that franchise left. 35 years in existence and they didn't do jack **** but choke. Why people still care about them, who knows. If the Texans take 3 1/2 decades sucking, I'll sing the same tune.

I miss the Oilers something fierce, they should have never left.

Ever since they left, I have not been as much of a fan of pro football....

I like the Texans, but not really attached to them like I was the Oilers.

I even dated a Derrick Doll when I was 20, got to go to all the games and sit on the sidelines, that was fun....

Dan, Earl, Carl, Elvin, Curly, Robert, Kenny, Mike, Dean....just so many memories.....

I live next door to an ex-Derrick Doll. Of course, she's now 55, living alone with 4 cats and 2 dogs, but she was a Derrick Doll once.

That's how I feel, although I'd include the Astros/Colt 45's. I saw that first Oilers game, by the way. My Dad was an early season ticket holder.

You missed some great football, front runner.

I lost a spelling bee to a future Derrick Doll in the 5th grade... and I can give you names... Natalie Dunn.

The girl I went out with was actually not all that pretty, she was ok, nice body, but a great dancer.

I kind of liked her and asked her out for a beer after work, we both worked at Pappas seafood in North Shore.....and after I found out she was a DDoll, I was a lot more into her...lol...

Sitting on the field in those seats next to the endzone was pretty danged fun.

As for the Oilers leaving it was just as much Bob Lanier's fault as it was Bud Adams....

Didn't know you were from that area! I was a North Shore kid my whole kid life; elementary, middle, and high school.

Always clarify for folks that I went there before the football team got good.

I lived in Baytown growing up. Worked at Pappas Seafood house for a year and a half, even my first year at SWTSU, I used to commute home every other weekend to work 3 double shifts and make $$$$ for school.
