Being Genghis Kahn would have been pretty awesome. Raid and pillage all day long, then spend each night in a luxury tent feasting with a harem of luscious asian girlies. Sounds good to me.

Jean Luc Godard. Similar ambitions, likewise style, and of course a highly coveted filmography.

I'm nervous of being anyone pre-twentieth century because everything's all... crusty. And there's no recorded music to listen to. (So I'm a historian, but obviously a very wimpy one!) And I don't think I could handle being incredibly famous. I think I'd like to be the trusted, rich *friend* of someone famous. Zelda Fitzgerald's emotionally stable buddy? The constant companion of Buster Keaton? One of the Beatles' inner circle? (But not if I have to dress like Derek Taylor. That beret... blurgh...)

So, I want to hang out with the fascinating people of twentieth century pop culture without worrying about money or responsibilities. Sounds cool.

Artistic - Miles Davis - No other artist evolved as much or as successfully and played with as many great musicians (Coltrane, Bird, Tony Williams, etc.). Plus, he was a little mack daddy who drove a yellow Ferrari.

Political/Military - Dwight Eisenhower - A great military leader and president during one of the most prosperous times in American history. Not to mention that I could have fired Nixon (too bad the real Eisenhower didn't).

Religious - St. Paul - The person responsible for Christianity lasting past the first century. Although I don't think I'd like the Crucifixition part or having to persecute Christians for the first half of my life.

Pablo Picasso. It would be nice to be a genius that changed art forever. As an artist during his period you also didn't have to live by the conventional rules of society with all the debauchery and zaniness that goes along with that. I also wouldn't mind living in Spain and France. Finally, living for over 90 years is never a bad thing.

I would totally be the Scorpion King. It's good to be the king, right? Ohhhhh, non-fictional historical figure. Riiiiiight. My bad. :D

Seriously, I would love to be King Arthur (assuming the legend is true, which it very well might be, according to recent archaelogical digs and historical analysis). Camelot, Knights of the Round Table, Lancelot, Lady Guineviere, jousting, etc. Sounds like great fun, and, like I said before, it's good to be the king...

I would have been Adam, that's right, the old number one. Why you ask? Simple, I would have kept Eve in check and we'd still be kickin' it in the Garden of Eden. Think about it, before Eve screwed it up for the rest of us we had life pretty easy. Chats with God, never had work, not a worry in the world.

Or I would have been the thief next to Jesus on the cross, I know he's in Heaven.

There was a real "Scorpion King"/"King Scorpion." He was given that name from some stelae that were found with an obvious king and a scorpion hieroglyph above to denote his name.

We know zero about him, though, so it would be pot luck as far as life.

    Probably Rommel.

As the Desert Fox, I would have assisinated Hitler, put an end to the Holocaust, and soundly destroyed the Frenchies to establish a German Empire that spanned from Spain to Russia.

Which part. The dying, or the suffering?

There is a lot more to Jesus Christ than that.
