Yes, Its a video with the instructor and some others working out. It has a timer on screen, Sometimes I will turn it off and read captions.
- Weights and/or resistance bands (I use the bands) - Chin up bar (I bought an "Iron Gym" from Target for $30) - Yoga mat (I just use towels) Other than that, you might need to use a chair or a wall for some exercises, but I assume you already have those Yes, you watch it as you work out. It's similar to the early morning fitness shows that used to (maybe still do) run on ESPN. The main guy (Tony Horton) leads the workout, alternating between actually doing it himself and using his assistants to explain proper technique and whatnot. Each workout is about an hour long (of the ones I've done so far), but on days when you have Ab Ripper X that's an extra 16 minutes. As an exception to the rule, Yoga X is an hour and a half all by itself.
Here's the Ab Ripper X routine, if anyone wants to see what it's like. http://www.findinternettv.com/Video,item,1567839403.aspx And remember, this is always preceded by an hour long workout.
Are you in good or bad shape aside from your abs? The reason I ask is I honestly think you could be overdoing it.
I agree. With this P90X program it's sort of like cardio and resistance training at the same time, and it only takes about an hour. Every morning I wake up feeling like I was thrown in a blender the night before, so the workouts are definitely sufficient. I used to be a 2 hour workout guy, but I think I'm done with that from now on. I probably was overdoing it myself.
Just finished the Kenpo X workout about an hour ago and surprisingly it's the easiest one I've done so far. Don't get me wrong...I'm definitely feeling it, but it didn't make me want to throw up like most of the other routines Looking forward to a rest day tomorrow, although I'll probably do some cardio or run some pick up basketball.
You still going strong? I just attained the videos and the workouts seem super hardcore. I'm going to start on Monday.
I was just wondering how everyone was doing on the P90X Program? Have you all stuck to it or died out? It's INTENSE!! I just started On Friday I did the Chest/Back and the Plyometrics (Killer) I am so sore in every area I worked, today I do my Arms and Shoulders. Also I was wondering what you all have been eating, in phase 1 it said I need like 1700 calories or somthing but this is the only diet plan I could come up with and stick to without getting burnt out on the food and can also fit into my schedule with work and all. Total Calories for the day is 2,335.. any pro's here want to critique that eating plan and help me devise a better one??
anyone on here go to the crossfit classes that are offered around town? I was thinking about joining those, but looking for some opinions first... thanks
Guys... my 24hr membership expired (180 for 1yr up front, unbeatable) I am looking at Lifetime right now. Does anyone work there? I could use an insiders deal. Keep me posted & thanks in advance.
