I'm suprised Deckard did not regale us with stories of how, in his sordid youth, he used to nail countless hotties in bookstores while reading poetry and doing drugs. At the same time!
Ditto. I couldn't sit down and read part of a book that I know I wouldn't finish. I do sit around and leaf through magazines while sitting on those benches. Occasionally I purchase one if it's interesting enough. But it doesn't bother me what other people do in a freaking bookstore. Unless you take a book into the bathroom while you push out a deuce.
The ceases that people annoy... oh, WTF... stop it. Anyway, The OP stated the comparison between libraries and book stores. Do you EVER take any food back after you've used it?
I used to hang out in the Houston Downtown library in highschool. Now I like to go to the book store since there is a better selection and its more convenient.
I like bookstores and like to just be there around all of the books. I like the smell of new books. I will read a magazine for a bit when I'm in one. Strangely enough, I'm not a big fan of hanging out in libraries for whatever reason. Several years ago I was flat broke and a book came out that I really wanted to read but couldn't afford. I went to B&N and sat there for twelve hours and read the book cover to cover.
yea i cant stand those people. theres a B&N near my house. i go in to get a coffee, and its always the same people , laying on the floor reading mags, and just throwing them on the floor when they are done. i totally agree about studying at a bookstore or starbucks, u are just taking up space. it makes me laugh when i see people with huge stacks of books, and a laptop sitting in a starbucks. i mean, did u purposely bring all those books from your house just to "study" or are u just trying to be popular. its the same with the people who wear the live strong bracelets.
Off topic but I agree. I got my live strong bracelet from my good friend that was dying from cancer. I wore until all these losers started wearing them and seemed to think we were in the same cool trend cliq together.
damn, that's funny! the Books A Million where I went to high school had an absolutely filthy men's bathroom.
The B&N on Brodie has a very clean one. So does Book People in downtown Austin. Must be a Houston thing!
Maybe it's you? I've always wondered the same thing. Every single barnes or borders bathroom I've been in have always smelled pretty bad...
it gets you laid. FACT: women will sleep with you if you read. tell 'em you wrote the book and you'll get it right there in the bookstore
Isn't the Houston Downtown Library basically a T-Room for gay men??? Also bums sleep in that library. I like to go into adult bookstores and sit in the aisles and toss-off while going through a mag. Hey...I've got to know if it works for me before I buy. No different than at B&N right???
