Keep it, Paul. You earned it. Review it and t'll still be Hamm's. Hamm already challenged the FIG to, "show me why I should return it based on the rules" or else shut up. They are just trying to penalize Hamm over their own judges' ineptitude.
May I say that: Error #1: It's like NBA's score table fails to add 2 points to Team A after a legitimate basket? It's a clerical error. Error #2: It's like ref. mistake Team B's 3 point basket as 2 point shot? It's a judgemental error. It's no-win situation here but personally I would be more upset if I were team A's fan.
I've been called a homer now since I rooted for the Americans. I have a few very memorable moments as a gymast: 1. Pommel Horse State Champion one year. 2. Getting a private lesson with Trent Dimas (won an Olympic gold on the Horizontal Bar) and Lance Ringnald. 3. Meeting and having dinner with the 1996 Chinese Olympic Team. This was probably my most memorable. The bottom line is that this is getting dirty. I dont care if it was an American or a South Korean that felt like he/she has been screwed out of a few tenths. Scores don't change in gymnastics unless they are appealed right then and there. If you lose by a point, a tenth of a point, or even a thousandth of a point.. then it is your fault for making a mistake(s) on any given event. Case closed btw.. leave Hamm's voice alone.. he can kick your butt
when I first saw code9x's name, i wanted to laugh...oops already did. I expected you to say something intelligent, instead it was so idiotic , i was thinking, "what the heck? what a dumbass with no brain even my sister went bursting out loud.
Thank you. Bottom line - if they wanted it looked at again, they should have said so right then and there. If you went through any given night of gymnastics, you would probably find several small judging errors in various places. Nobody else has ever gone through and tried to change the scores. When Yang (the Korean) has been interviewed, he seems to blame himself mainly for making small mistakes in various routines that cost him points here and there. I think he's trying to say that it was a close finish and he knows that, to earn a gold medal, you have to make a stronger case to prove you're a better athlete. I'm not sure if any of this was his idea; I suspect it was his federation's idea instead. Franchise2001 - interesting stories. I wonder how the team would have fared with Bhavsar on it. They certainly could have used his rings (though it sounds like they wouldn't have used him on any other events). Some of the guys who were on the team seemed to be struggling or recovering from injuries. Also, the Hamm thing was hardly the only judging controversy... what was up with the judges changing our guys' start values and only telling them 2 days before prelims? (and Blaine putting in a release off the high bar that he knew he probably wasn't going to make ) And then there's the judging for event finals. Several of them seemed inexplicable to me. Like, why was that Greek guy supposed to be better on rings than Jovtchev?? Or the infamous high bar business. But I don't know that much about it.
LOL....you can do better than that right? my screenname is better than yours anyways....synergy....haha so Hamm is still a sissy right? nobody refuted that he does not have a sissy, girly voice? he might have muscles but he still punches like a girl!!
