Agreed - it is obviously propaganda and this conflict has gone one for so long that both the Israeli's and Palestinians are very adept at propaganda and portraying themselves as the victims of the other. I would not tear them down either - but I also would not be shocked if other people tore them down in public spaces. I have seen people do the same with political support signs and posters. I have seen both Obama and Trump posters/signs stolen and destroyed and it is an annoyance but there is nothing sacred about it. The same goes for these "missing" or "kidnapped" posters. I would feel the same if it were Palestinian posters.
It has always been this way - and you make a good point about it being outside this country as well. Cuba and Germany are two classic examples. Everyone seems to love the idea of free speech when it is speech that they benefit from or agree with. Also - not all speech that originates in universities is viewed as good long term.
Not everything labeled as anti-semitism is anti-semitism - but anti-semitism certainly still exists, and is quite bad in some parts of the world.
Where **** have you been? Racism is alive and well in this country, and plays a huge part in the history and continued status of this country.
Just amazing how important it will be for the American media to really up its game going into this next year in regards to keeping the facts clear, and snuffing out propaganda. Wars and mass devastation almost always starts with lies, and propaganda. Plain and simple. It's the reason why political reasoning justifies military and sometimes terrorist actions. If a right winger gets elected next Fall (and we all know who that right winger is) it'll take very few lies to propagate a massive military response, and likely a war with the Arab world.
The Republican party, and his voters are not when the "enemy" is attacking Israel, or if it's a country like Mexico. Trump plays to the base, and in many cases its the tail that wags the dog with him. He's opportunistic to see the base at their most primal, and feed them what they want. From a personality standpoint, yeah, Trump just doesn't want to be bothered by foreign policy in general. He only wants the pomp and circumstance and leave the other countries out there to fend for themselves. But with Israel, there's no way Trump is going to be able to sit back while Iran invades Jerusalem. He knows his Zionist base, and he knows they won't put up with what would be a flat out abandonment of Israel.
no US president, not Trump, nor Biden, nor even The Fresh Prince of Bill Ayers, would sit back while Iran invaded Jerusalem. also, I invite you to look at a map to gauge the challenges Iran would face in such an endeavor.
For Gaza city having 590,000 residents and Hamas being the defacto government, having $500 million in assets is not much.
