Islam is not a religion of peace. But it's not a death cult either. It's a rigid, conservative framework for how to live and that varies based on local cultural norms given the dozens of sects within the two main sects. It's incompatible with liberalism because it's neither tolerant of secularism nor accepting of personal liberties like speech or sexuality. But maybe that is not an issue as we are watching a global decline of liberalism and the battering of it here in the US with the rise of right wing christian nationalism. Maybe the Islamic autocrats in Iran, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Turkey will fit in fine in the autocrat world order when Xi, Putin, Modi, and Bibi all rule as presidents for life. Who knows maybe we in the US will get lucky and Trump gets re-elected and he can put 2 more conservative heritage foundation approved justices on the SCOTUS so we can make America great again to the 1830s and ensure every class room reads the Bible, homosexuality is again outlawed, and races can be segregated just as god intended.

Don't worry @AroundTheWorld, Dharmic faiths aren't better either. The 1.2 billion Hindus think less of us because we eat beef (or any meat). Their vedas promote violence and intolerance of non-Dharmic faiths just as Abrahamic faiths do. Our religions are a reflection of both our innate and chosen nature as a species. Respectfully, tone down the anti-Islamic rhetoric. It's no different than anti-Semitic or anti-Christian tropes. And none of these people are actually inherently bad. Promote syncretism, reject fundamentalism.
