OK so you have no answer as to what Israel should have done. I don't care about your anti-Jewish propaganda videos. One of my best friends' relatives got close friends who got murdered on October 7. And they want to do it again and again and again. It's in Hamas' charter. Israel not only has the right, but also the duty to its people to work on eliminating the threat to their civilians. Since the Hamas terrorist cowards embed themselves in their own civilian population, Israel has no other way to go after them than what they do. Nothing in your little videos justifies any of Hamas' atrocities.

I met an Israeli tech founder this morning. His brother was called in to defend his country. He has 10 team members where either husband or wife had to report to military duty, while the kids haven't been able to go to school for months. Israelis have to retreat to shelters all the time because they are getting bombarded with rockets. They always have to be worried about suicide attacks against them. He has team members whose relatives got murdered on October 7th. And Hamas said they will do it again and again and again. It's the reason they exist. To murder Jews. I cannot tell an Israeli civilian who is a victim of a terror attack or a relative of a victim to not have hateful thoughts of Palestinians. It isn't my place to tell people like that "hey chill" because it's something I haven't experienced. I cannot tell the relatives of the 25,000 Palestinians killed in the past few months nor the 1.1 million Palestinians who lost their homes in the past few months and are displaced and living in dysentery homeless conditions not to hate Israelis. It's just not place. Only psychopaths can deny that because it requires a lack of empathy to deny it.
They should hate Hamas, not the Israelis. The fact that the majority of them hated the Israelis enough to elect Hamas is what led to their own downfall. It is possible to have empathy with the innocent individuals affected, but still acknowledge that Israel was put in an impossible situation here, and Israel's primary duty is to protect their own civilians by eliminating the stated threat of October 7th being repeated. Israel simply has no other choice than to go after Hamas with all they have. And Hamas are the ones who are hiding like cowards behind civilians. Germany had to be brought to its knees to rid it from being governed by Nazis. Leaving Hamas in power is worse for Gazans long-term than Hamas being eradicated now.
If Israel stops now, all that will happen is that Hamas will re-arm and attack them again. That must not happen. @Ubiquitin basically stated that he wants Hamas to win. At least he was honest about it. He said Israel should do nothing and just wait for the next October 7th style attack.
Remember that Hamas murders Gazans too. You guys who keep acting like they are some brave resistance/freedom fighters are supporting Jihadists, knowingly or unknowingly. They murder Gazan civilians all the time. They subjugate women. They murder gays. There is no "freedom" in Gaza. There would be a lot more freedom for everyone if Israel were to rule Gaza, including for the Palestinians. Those who cheer for "Intifada" are Jew haters, plain and simple. All a "ceasefire" would do would be to allow Hamas to re-arm and attack Israel again. If you are promoting a "ceasefire" before Hamas is eradicated, you want more Jews to be murdered.
Empathy is a skill that requires understanding motivations, desires, lived in conditions etc. Expressing empathy here is a skill to evaluate a situation. I can understand you not sympathizing with a Palestinian because you might see them as lesser humans but think of a job of an Israeli intelligence official. Their job unironically is empathizing with Palestinians. Its a tool to predict behavior. So when former Israeli intelligence officials state that the treatment of Palestinians in the past decades is creating an unsustainable powder keg that will ignite any moment, they are doing a practice of empathizing and understanding the consequences of how humans react to a government doing specific actions. So here you are failing to utilize the skill of empathy by not understanding that the only thing the IDF has accomplished is creating a new generation of ptsd'd out teens dedicating a life of revenge. When the Christian Palestinian approval rating of Hamas is increasing you aren't beating Hamas. Hamas just needs ptsd'd or damaged teens. That's their life force for existence. That is what empathy actually concludes. To your question of this false dichotomy of "do nothing and let Hamas genocide Isreal" or "we must level Gaza to remove Hamas and in the process create a rampant humanitarian crisis of over a million people living in dysentery" I say it's a bad faith dichotomy. Hamas is a fart in the wind when it comes to conventional warfare, invasion capabilities. Their tactic is attacking SECURITY HOLES. They take advantage of bad security. Ptsd'd out men came in via freaking paragliders. And we are talking about a border between a major nation state with a modern military and a closed of occupied region full of people who hate their occupiers. So it would be in Israel's best interest for the IDF to man the borders instead doing whatever the **** they are doing in the West Bank . It's quite easy to prevent a Hamas incursion. They don't got f-35s. They just got a bunch of angry dudes with small arms and rpgs and paragliders. That's a laughable arsanel compared to the IDF. No excuse to not prevent an incursion of Hamas terrorists. So your answer to what Israel should have done? Man the borders at high alert, send lguth infantry and special forces to target Hamas high ranking officials directly and rescue hostages directly. Gaza doesn't have anti-air. Very easy for special operations to do a lift incursion. It's more risky for the individual operators but if they want all the bad ass talk of herisom their way they might as well do actual things that are heroic.
Remember when the mayor of Jerusalem went on I believe the BBC and denied that Christian Palestinians existed in Gaza because of the talking points that Hamas murdered and expelled them? No one thinks Hamas is some woke egalitarian political ideology but let's not pretend they are ISIS. There would be zero support of Hamas from non Muslims in Palestinian areas then if they was the case. There aren't any non-muslim Isis supporters who lived under Isis rule because Isis is exactly what you think Hamas is. Hamas in terms of governance ideology on enforcing Islam on a population is similar to entities like Hezbollah who if you don't know have many Christian supporters in the region Hezbollah controls.
