I didn't like Benedict either (I think the whole concept with the pope is ridiculous, in fact, I think all the religions are ridiculous, although I respect the right of people to believe whatever they want, as long as it doesn't turn into intolerance and violence).

But I am pretty sure Benedict wasn't corrupt.

All religions lead to violence and intolerance because those are human traits and religion was invented by man. Even when everyone follows the “same” religion we figure out new ways to split ourselves up.

But I don’t have any real issues with any of the major organized religions on the individual level. The religious people I know have the same flaws as the non-religious people I know, and everyone is doing their best to survive.

I think this depends on how you define "corrupt". I'd argue that standing in the way of any church sexual abuse cases from coming to light, even if he did move on others, is evidence of some level of corruption.

Deadline set for claims against Baltimore Archdiocese for sexual abuse
Survivors have until May 31 to file a claim in the archdiocese’s bankruptcy case. After that, civil sexual abuse claims against it will be permanently barred.

The “Attorney General’s Report on Child Sexual Abuse in the Archdiocese of Baltimore” was just that: though it listed 156 clergy and staff who abused more than 600 children over eight decades, it covered only the church’s Baltimore jurisdiction, the largest of the three in the state. It did not address the Archdiocese of Washington, a territory that includes the Maryland suburbs of the nation’s capital and southern Maryland, or the Diocese of Wilmington, Delaware, which includes Maryland’s Eastern Shore counties. The

Very funny to somehow think that an archdiocese affiliated with the Catholic church could be bankrupt.

The Catholic Church had a lot to hide, all things considered.

Yes, I meant I don't think his goal was to enrich himself personally.

Without sustaining members like yourself, the Archdiocese will not be able to continue its operations. With a small charitable donation every Sunday, you can ensure that beloved Catholic programs like communion and confessional are able to happen week after week.

Off-topic, but the IDF dude looks very similar to the Pfizer CEO.

I am not a rocket scientist, but I am a Rockets fan, and I know their plan is suicide.

I notice how a ATW did not respond to Human Rights Watch (HRW) saying Israel is committing a war crime by deliberately using starvation as a weapon. For that matter I never have seen him address HRW and Amnesty International as well as B'Tselem. the leading human rights group all saying Israel is practicing Apartheid.

All he and his fellow travelers got is claims of anti-semitism. I guess they would claim all the three groups are anti-semites -- even more ridiculous with B"TSelem, of course.

HRW and Amnesty International have a crass anti-Israel bias. Never heard of the other organization.
