Hopefully, more people like this guy have major roles in post-Hamas leadership and government. I'm surprised he is still alive. https://www.foxnews.com/world/young...s-gaza-step-up-to-serve-snubbed-un-aid-groups A rare Palestinian youth leader opposed to Hamas’ totalitarian rule has emerged amid Israel’s efforts to root out the vestiges of the jihadi terrorist movement in the Gaza Strip. Speaking from within the war zone in Gaza, Moumen Al-Natour, 28, said he "advocates peace and for the establishment of a Palestinian state" that coexists with the Jewish state as part of a two-state solution. The Hamas regime has imprisoned Al-Natour twenty times, including incarceration for "expressing my opinion and trying to organize additional protests." Al-Natour was part of the 2019 protest against the deteriorating standard of living under Hamas rule. "I organized a lot of young people in that 2019 protest movement." According to the Meezaan Organization for Human Rights, based in Nazareth, Al-Natour was tortured by Hamas each time he was jailed. When asked why the world is not hearing from people in Gaza who oppose Hamas, Al-Natour said, "Hamas is still in power. People, even during peace time, they do not criticize Hamas publicly. Now, specifically during wartime, the consequences would be much, much worse than during peace time. "For sure, not all the people in Gaza are Hamas. They do not have access to social media and journalistic platforms where they can express what they think about Hamas." Asked if the war bring change to Gaza, Al-Natour said, "To be able to defeat Hamas on an ideological level is almost impossible because they have a lot of scholars, they have a lot of books. So, it will not be easy to just wipe out all of that. Al-Natour stressed that, in a postwar Gaza, it is important that "those who suffered for 17 years are the ones who should be leading … for the future of Gaza. We represent the youth and the disenfranchised. Al-Natour said he and members of his group are "distributing aid in many areas and have met many people who need more of a permanent solution instead of violence and wars. Hamas has launched numerous mini-wars over last 15 years against Israel." Al-Natour says he receives aid to distribute from "Palestinians abroad and moderate voices." "Moumen Al-Natour combines a history of bold anti-Hamas activism with a commitment to forging civil society. When the fighting stops, the success of any post-Hamas administration will depend on whether it attracts Gazans like Moumen to step up and play a role,"
Doesn't look like @maypk's guys are winning. The whining for a ceasefire is just an attempt to save Hamas. Easy to tell because the Islamists and leftists are whining for a ceasefire at the same time as they are screaming for "intifada". They don't want peace. They want the Islamists to be able to re-arm so they can kill more Jews.
Cute coming from someone who regularly does not answer questions. I don't think you are willing to have an honest discussion. Let me answer it anyway. Yes, Israelis give full rights to Arabs living on the Israeli side (which supports my statement that Muslims and Jews can live together peacefully when dignity is provided to all). However, they give subpar rights (and resources) to Arabs living under Israeli occupation (West Bank and Gaza Strip). The issue here is the latter, which you, of course, know but are ignoring. Like I said, ignoring the problem doesn't solve the problem.
Wish this guy good luck and would hope that more people like him would step forward. The problem with why this situation is so intractable is that while there are probably a lot of both Israelis and Palestinians who think like that attempts to move to peace are so easily derailed by extremists. Israeli governments don’t feel they have a capable or willing partner for peace in the Palestinian side so They engage in collective punishments kn the Palestinians as a whole. Palestinians continue to see economic blockades and more Settlements being built so they don’t see hope And instead empower Hamas. It’s just keeps on going as a vicious cycle with the worst of each side driving things.
And you - and in your favour, I will assume that it is because you are delusional, not malicious - have been ignoring the fact that Israel has a proven and very legitimate security interest in monitoring and controlling the "resources" going to people who have proven time and time again that they will use most of the resources they get to try and kill more Jews.
This post perpetuates the leftist logic that Palestinian Islamist hate is "just a reaction" to (alleged) economic blockages. But it isn't. You are confusing cause and effect. The Islamist hate has been there first. More resources = more weapons to kill more Jews. Controlling the in- and outflow of resourcesi is not the cause of the Palestinian hate, it is a necessary reaction to Palestinian hate which turns into stockpiling weapons to kill more Jews.
