First - oppression doesn't magically end when occupation ends. When slavery ended in the United States or when the white majority government stepped down in SA, it did not mean that everything was magically better and all issues resolved. Go to an American Indian reservation and you will see it with your own eyes.

Second - even in Gaza, Israel and maintained strict control over the airspace, the waterways and who and what could and could not enter Gaza. The economy in Gaza is garbage, in part for that reason....... and the money that Israel has allowed through has come from extremists.

Yes - I agree that at this point Israel has serious security interests with Gaza.

I have known of her because of her work on human rights - so she is someone that is famous in those circles... she had some involvement for example in South Africa and was part of a movement in Israel through the 90's that was a strong believer that the long-term solution was through de-escalation. Unfortunately neither side embraced that, the more extreme wings in Israel and in Palestine made sure that did not happen.

Amy Schumer went full throttle in calling for the destruction of Gaza so I would not use her as a voice of reason. But the point is just as valid with or without her.

Jewish Celebrities Blast TikTok: “Creating Biggest Antisemitic Movement Since the Nazis”
"Shame on you." Sacha Baron Cohen, Debra Messing and Amy Schumer are among those confronting the popular social media app.

A score of Jewish celebrities are criticizing TikTok following a surge of antisemitic rhetoric going viral on the social media app following Hamas‘ Oct. 7 terror attack on Israel, which has culminated in some young people supporting 9/11 terror leader Osama bin Laden.

According to The New York Times, more than 30 influential people — including Sacha Baron Cohen, Debra Messing and Amy Schumer — had an impassioned 90-minute video call with TikTok executives earlier in the week.

“What is happening at TikTok is it is creating the biggest antisemitic movement since the Nazis,” Cohen declared on the call, according to a video of the exchange. “Shame on you.” The Borat creator added that the service could “flip a switch” to silence such videos, and noted, “If you think back to Oct. 7, the reason why Hamas were able to behead young people and rape women was they were fed images from when they were small kids that led them to hate.”

I get the sense that the Bin Laden letter TikTok thing is much more of a Hamas strategic bot campaign that has been wildly more successful than they ever could have imagined. Much of it because one section of the politic has used it to try and paint their political “enemies” as all being Bin Laden lovers.

As someone who has actually read his garbage so you don’t have to, the main point he makes is how mad he is about western women showing their elbows and people drinking on a US military base in Saudi Arabia on land he believed to be holy land.

Bin Laden was a fundamentalist religious nut cult leader who preached violence as part of his fire and brimstone text.

Liberal Zoomers would almost certainly never agree to anything he believed other than maybe some crosshairs of the Palestinians… which is seems like he hardly spent time on when the majority of his concern… again was based around Saudi Arabia.

Now incel dopes… yeah I can totally see them loving his garbage because that group of douchebags are long lost to reality and the ideals of freedom and democracy.

And again have to point out that Israel helped Hamas to counter Fatah. So the people of Gaza were not only under an Israel economic blockade but under the political control of Hamas. Israel rather than work with the group that actually has recognized Israel was willing to help the group that still openly wants to destroy them.

I agree from what little I’ve seen of TiKTok it’s a cesspool. So it Twitter/X particularly what we saw today. That said I’ll point out that there are many voices decrying Antisemitism online who have been frequently also some of the loudest voices claiming that social media companies shouldn’t be able to censor content or posters for what many deem
    Hateful.

How long do you think that ICU patients can survive with limited to no power in the middle of an active combat site?

If Hamas is actually hiding out under the hospital, which I do believe, and the IDF are fighting them then it makes absolute sense that vulnerable patients are dying.

LOL at Sasha Cohen being mad… he made a character based on Muslims and multiple movies depicting Borat as a backwards anti-Semite but now he is mad at the media? He also believes that the Hamas terrorists were able to behead and murder Israeli’s because of the media? Maybe he isn’t aware of the last 70 years of history between Palestinians and Zionists…. The level of resentment and hatred that some Palestinians have is why they can decapitate people. Doesn’t make it right - doesn’t make it justified - but it is the crux of the issue and not the media.

I had a guy from New York tell me that Amy Schumer was terrible in bed. He does well with women - said after she laid there in bed and did nothing, that he told her while it’s true he picked her up because he is horny - that she isn’t good enough looking to just lie there- do something or get a taxi home.

Yup - Palestinians with citizenship in Israel have it WAY better than Palestinians in the occupied territories… but Israel has two orders that allow them to strip citizenship from those that work against the best interest of Israel.

She probably should have thought about it because her life just got a lot worse.

More like - they knew it was coming.

You don’t openly support a radical terrorist organization to weaken a more moderate and reasonable organization unless you want chaos and you want to avoid a two country solution…. Hell the government of Israel allowed and encouraged duffel bags of money from Iran through Qatar to enter into Gaza.

Bibi and the hard right Zionists want an excuse to gain further control over the occupied territory and with the backing of Israel, Hamas was more than willing to do just that.

I am sure Bibi is figuring out what they will do with Gaza and how much more aggressive they can be in the WBank.
