The new hotness on Twitter is attributing a lot of the casualties on 10/7 to IDF friendly fire.

It’s on Twitter so it must be true, right?

    Is it just a Papal-Persian Anti-Semitic Conspiracy?

    https://cruxnow.com/church-in-the-m...d-on-hostages-criticizes-engagement-with-iran
Israel urges Pope to be ‘loud’ on hostages, criticizes engagement with Iran
ROME – A representative of Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Monday urged Pope Francis and all political and religious leaders to continue building international pressure for the release of hostages abducted by Hamas.

Speaking during a Nov. 5 video conference on the war in Gaza, Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman Lior Hayat said they are aware of Pope Francis’s repeated interventions on the war in Gaza and voiced his belief that “the pope and the Vatican hold an important moral stand in this case.”

“We expect him to be as loud as possible to talk about the release of hostages. This is a humanitarian catastrophe, a crisis. We call on every world leader and every religious leader to talk about it, to pressure everyone about it,” Hayat said.

He noted that Pope Francis and other Vatican officials have had phone calls with several international leaders, including United States President Joe Biden, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi.

Referring to the pope and the Vatican’s engagement with Iran as “unfortunate,” Hayat said, “I don’t see the point of talking to the terrorist regime in Iran. They are part of the problem, not part of the solution.”

Pope Francis and Raisi spoke Sunday at the latter’s request, with much of the conversation, according to a statement from the Iran president’s office, focusing on the need for peace and a ceasefire.

Raisi during the call said it is the task of all Abrahamic religions, including Christians, to support “the oppressed people of Palestine” and contemned Israel’s ongoing military siege.

Does the Pope support the IDF?

Explaining Pope Francis’s perceived ‘ambiguity’ on Israel and Judaism

ROME – Leaders often speak at least as loudly by what they don’t say as by what they do, and such would appear to be the case in recent days regarding Pope Francis’s approach to Israel and the broader Jewish world.

A series of perceived papal slights began in late October, when a group of family members of victims of the Oct. 7 surprise attack by Hamas against Israel, as well as family members of Israelis taken hostage by Hamas, visited Italy.

Accompanied by Israel’s Ambassador to Italy, the President of the Union of Italian Jewish Communities and the President of the Jewish Community of Rome, the group met with a series of leading national figures, including Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.

According to news reports at the time, the group also requested a meeting with Pope Francis but was informed that due to the demands of the Synod of Bishops on Synodality, which met until Oct. 29, the pontiff was unable to make time in his schedule. Ironically, the day after the group met Meloni the pope granted an audience to a delegation from the U.S. Holocaust Museum, making it all the more striking to some observers that he didn’t meet the Israeli families.

Iraq has asked us to leave. .

I am sure Syria wants us out as we are occupying their main oil producing region. How are they going to kick us out?. Syria is still in a civil war to the extent that we support the rebels against the government which has largely prevailed. . Neither country is my ideal, but why are we violating their sovereignty? It is then something to think about what is accomplished by putting our troops thousands of miles away and that we keep bombing because they are being attacked even if by "Iranian backed militias"

I am going down a rabbit hole about how the Catholic Church and Israel view one another.

I think EU threatened Twitter x over these videos, censorship to facts if it stood by Israel' way, Hamas and Nasrallah had mentioned the exact same thing: Headless IDF massacred their own (left leaning) festival crowds.

BTW, which CF member is this one >

The Pope is an idiot. He continues in a shameful tradition of Popes...they were a disgrace during the Nazi regime as well. I am saying this as someone who was raised Catholic.
