I'll try to download some of Bungie's custom game variations like "Pirate Ships," "Rocket Race," and some others. I hear they are a lot of fun. Maybe we can try them out.
I'm going to pick the game up tonight. Please send me an invite and/or add me to friends list. My gamertag is Surfguy. Hopefully, I can get in on a game with you'll.
Why does it defeat the purpose? There are games that are supposed to get to players before they arrive in stores and people still get screwed. It doesn't need to be the majority of cases. All it takes is one case for you to feel screwed. The WoW experience I stated was mine. Others did in fact get screwed with pre-ordering it. Want another game? Vanguard. Read some of the reviews at Amazon.com where Amazon screwed up its pre-orders on that game (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Vanguard-Saga-Heroes-Limited-PC/dp/B000MMT6YC). It's not some isolated incident. It happens on just about every hyped up PC release (not sure about consoles since I don't play a ton of console games).
weird, we'll try again tommorow. good stuff tonight. had more people. think we even got up to 10, so we went 5v5 on some CTF and King of the Hill
Someone sent me an invite earlier tonight - don't remember who - sorry I didn't answer, but I was doing a split screen co-op with a friend and he didn't have a Live account. Because, as you pointed out, this is much more common with ordering online. Most people who order games regularly know how unstable doing the online order is, particularly when talking about street dates and release calendars. So yeah, I definitely agree with you when it comes to online. However, you said it was flat out 'stupid' to preorder, when there are understandable reasons someone would, and in the game stores where many people preorder, the majority of the time you don't run into frequent problems with getting the game the day of release. As I said, I myself don't really do it much at all - but that doesn't mean I don't see the reason many folks do. And I don't think it's fair to say they are doing something 'stupid' when they do it.
man last nit was fun, cept for the fact me and chiefers got our ass handed each time. we got it to 5 on 5 last nite hopefully we can get it to more than that next time
I had a lot of fun last night too. I started to get a lot better, and the first thing I am gonna do today is find somewhere that will tell me where all the weapons are on the multiplayer maps.
yah it was kinda annoying playing th other teams that already know wer all the rocket launchers and shotguns are. it was funny how we tried to get organized but once we see the enemy we all start running around in diff places...lol
Dude, apparently you got a crapload better. If you guys go to bungie.net, you can type in people's gamertags and you get all sorts of statistics on them. I sent you a message bro...I had played so much Madden and Halo by the time I could get around playing with you guys that I needed a break. I'll try to join you guys another time...but damn, I wouldnt be able to hang with you fellas.
I can only play first person shooters for like 20 minutes and I get motion sickness. Anyone else have that problem? Anyone know a remedy?
Yup, they are free. You can download some of Bungie's favorite custom game variations, and then you can download other user's that have made custom game variations too. It's pretty sweet! http://www.bungie.net/Online/BungieFavorites.aspx You need to have your Windows Live ID set up to your gamertag. You simply log in to Bungie.net, go to the link I posted, and click on download to Halo 3, and next time you sign on to Halo 3 online from your 360, you go to custom games and it'll be there ready for you to download and save on your system. Pretty cool system they have set up here.
it was fun for a while but as the night got later, i got tired. as soon as i saw someone leave after the 2nd 5x5 game, i felt it was my chance to leave and yall still have an even number of people. it was fun though. there was a group of 4 of us that played for a while (all i can remember is master chiefers in the group) and we were getting wooped. you could really tell we didnt know each others tendencies or the maps at all. we would start to get better but by that time we joined in with flyerfanatic, 5x5. that was crazy and fun. kind of the hill was intense! ill be sure to check when everyone is doing it again. sounds lame but we ought to pick teams for good so we know each other on our perspective teams better. anytime we set up a date and time, our team members meet up and play the other team on a consistent basis. right now we seem to have a solid 10-12 guys playing. that number would grow of course over time but with more guys, there will be more teams. i like the idea but only if everyone else is committed to it and not leaving their other teammates hanging around - not showing. pick team captains, have a draft, and set guys that dont play as much as others as "subs". when they are on, they have a team, but when they arnt on, no biggie. lol of course im sure some of you can think of better ideas as a whole.
