My only problem is that matchmaking always takes a long time to start up; I seem to do a lot of waiting in the "searching for ideal game" screen; I've had the best luck with big team battle games, sometimes thats quicker.
It wasn't that bad if you're good with the sniper rifle, as long as I'm thinking of the right level. Truth and Reconciliation, right? Get up on the tank in the bay and snipe the Elites as they walk through the different doors. Towards the end when multiple ones come out at once go grab the active camo so all you have to do is run around and melee them in the back.
I finally won one in Rumble Pit. I have turned a corner. Woohoo!!! It only took to my 71st game to do it. But, I did it! I can finally calm down now. Hehe. I also came in second in the "Oddball" game before that.
Let's run some late night games. I'm going to jump on as soon as I get off work. I need to add the rest of you friends list; I already added a couple. I still need to add: LeagueFreak krimbot Supermac34 Vyer Chupacabra5000 JAliZ TxOllie BEVERB95 stike chiefmark Anybody else?
Just a tip for ClutchBBS Clan play only (DOnt give this one away!). In the Waterworks big team play battles, you can use the Alien Tank to move the largest boxes infront of the front and rear entrance when you are defending a flag or base. These boxes make it impossible to get through the front and back of the base. They also cant be moved easily with bombs or even the 4X4.
Had a blast playing some Clutch BBSers last night - Surfguy I sent you an invite to join us, but you were in a match. I won 2 Rumble Pit matches! I found that it's quite easy to kill someone by running them over in a Ghost...
Damn you guys, I am only able to play the extreme late night matches; I don't have enough time to sleep, work, and play H2, so I sacrifice the first one. For whatever reason, I kept getting dumped into games with all-French teammates late last night. Which kind of sucks on one hand but is also rather amusing since I know enough French to scream at them in Franglais which takes them by surprise.
I got dumpted into that map for the first time last night; I didn't really understand it too well and a few of my teammates were not too happy when I drove our hog to a watery grave....
Yea...I won another Rumble Pit match to take my total to 2 wins in 80 games! I had two wins in one night or my last 10 games, though. I was happy. I absolutely dominated this one match with the sword where I had 16 wins and 4 deaths. LOL I will catch up with some of you tonite to play either before or after the Rockets game.
Finished the game a few days ago...beat it relatively easily, though I probably should have started on Heroic but oh well. It's a damn fine game...is it better than Halo... well the graphics, sound and gameplay are its saving grace....but overall (my feelings might change somewhat once I go through it again)...I don't think its too much better than Halo 1, it souldn't get game of the year...and its DEFINITELY NOT the best game ever...my reasons: 1) The pistol is weak as hell. I understand its about creating balance and essentially the pistol from Halo became the rifle in 2...but still, its not the same. THere was something fantastic and utterly gratifying using the pistol in deathmatch..but now its about as effective as the needler was in the first game. 2)Halo one was well balanced in terms of mission gameplay, there was exploration, long battles, sniping missions, close combat, etc. Halo 2 seems like its just all close combat and frantic action...thats ok and all...but the action seems almost too rushed at times...especially in multiplayer where it seems (because of the dual wepaons) you almost have to engage in close combat. 3)Jumping ability is too high and floaty..its completely usless now (and I used jumping a lot in a fps). 4)Lack of button layout options. In the first game, there were plenty of different custom layouts you could choose from, so no matter what your preference was you more than likely would find a setup to meet your tastes. In 2, there is only 3 freaking options, default, southpaw and boxer. I used the jumpy option in the first game because I like to jump a lot, and like to be able to jump with ease (i.e. not having to move any of my thumbs off the sticks, i like to be moving, looking, shooting and jumping at the SAME time). In Halo, because of the lack of button schemes, that's virtually impossible. So this problem probably irks me the most cause I've had to change my gamestyle. It's also a problem I haven't read about in any other reviews, but honestly, why couldn't have Bungie allowed us to totally customize the controls. 4)Dual wielding rocks...but almost creates an imbalance...I sometimes feel I have no choice but to dual wield, as if the rifle, sniper rifle, etc are completly useless. Also, the screen feels a little cluttered as it is (can't put my finger on why though), but dual wielding makes it even worse. 5)Without spoiling it for anybody who hasnt finished it... I thought the game was about one thing but it turned out to be something else and pretty much felt like I was retreading familiar territory. Also, after finshing the game I felt severly disconnected from a certain genetically enhanced hero (those who finshed it I think you know why) 6)I know Bungie learned its lesson about repetitiveness in the first one, but they came dangerously close to doing the same thing. 7)The scorpion is way too slow. I know tanks can go faster than that. 8)The covenant weapons are better, but it almost seems like they're too many now. Plus, especially in the later levels, you pretty much have to rely soley on those weapons because they're simply arent any human weapons lying around. And the human weapons are just more gratifying to use. 9)The story...started off absotuley incredible...very epic...but got progressively worse and unoriginal and kinda weird. 10)And finally, who could forget the ending...or lack thereof...I don't mind cliffhangers, as long as the story comes to somewhat of a conclusion...this one just ended...which is a bewilderment considering the single player campain is as short as it is. Anyways, with all that said and done...i still am extremely satisfied with the game...it still flat out rocks and the multiplayer is really good....but lets just say I'm glad I still have Halo, cause I know I'll be going back to it...ESPECIALLY to use my favorite weapon, the pistol, so I can use my preferred control scheme..and so I can play Hang 'Em High
Sounds like you and I are on the same level. I have 2 wins in 83 matches currently. Somehow I'm a level 5. There's no way to figure out average finish, all-in accuracy, some way to see if I'm getting better, etc.
It's geeky, but fun. So since my last win moved me to a 5, more often than not I'm playing peoples in the 8-11 range now and losing badly again.
I didn't read the thread, but noticed people were posting their Xbox Live Gamer Tags. I'm gonna go out on a short limb and say I am the best Halo player on this site I know all that is Halo! Hit me up at StevieFranchise.
