Some of those pumpkins amaze me, not sure how you guys do that. I am not posting mine, first off don't know how to post pictures, second i would be embarrassed. Mine our the standard triangles, circles and slit for mouth - granted the kidos (6 and 7) do it...........but I couldn't do any better.
My parents used to. I haven't done it yet with any of the pumpkins I've carved since moving out... Maybe I will this year. Anyone have any secret recipes for roasting the seeds? Special seasonings? hmmmm?
Finished while we were pulling away from the Grizzle... not my best work, but maybe my favorite anyway. And besides, who can compete with some of the stuff you see out there. Anyway, it's a rockets pumpkin and I'll be representing this Halloween.
Very nice, DaveLoco. You're tops right now in this here ClutchFans Annual Jack-O-Lantern exhibit. Now we're going to HAVE TO make a ROCKETS one. Dang you. Ummm... they only last a week or two after carving... unless you know of some Demolition Man / Ted Williams cryogenic trick...
Hey, Thanks! Looking back I wish I had spent more time on it, but I figure finishing the whole thing while we take the first game of the season against the grizz has some merit of its own. As for keeping it the whole season?? Well, I suspect I could make one out of something more permanent, but this one will just have to be for the here and now. It'll look like IMA's before too long I would think.
I just read on www.pumpkincarving101.com that if you coat all the cut surfaces of the pumpkin with petroleum jelly, it'll help preserve the pumpkin longer.
A couple we worked on tonight. The lettering on the second one got messed up but it's no big deal. Dwight in a lighter area:
Who is that one on the right supposed to be? Looks like either Mr.Roper with glasses or an Old PeeWee Herman.
