Eid Mubarak to all, although I'm late haha. This all reminds me of how tough Hakeem was/is. Fasting during the season...the guy is truly remarkable. "At the beginning of my career, when my team-mates heard I was fasting during the season they thought it would affect my game and were concerned," explains the 12-time All-Star. "But when they saw that it actually made me better there was a lot of admiration and intrigue: 'How can you play at this level without drinking water, when you must need water and must be thirsty' they would ask."
But you can eat and drink as much as you want once the sun goes down, right? So he can hydrate before sun up, and the night games are unaffected he can still hydrate then as well. It is sort of a "mostly" type of fast, rather than a real one, right? DD
Happy Eid Everybody .. Goodluck to Hakeem wherever he is .. its nice to see he still has that connection with houston as a city not a lot of players have that ..
Yes you can eat and drink after sundown. But are you suggesting that binge-hydrating has the same effects as hydrating regularly throughout the day? From my experience, I would say no way in physical terms. He probably sometimes had to hold out eating until after a game cause you don't wanna play on a full stomach. Also, you may be forgetting the fact that he has practice/work-outs that are during the day. Then there are also day games on weekends. I'm not sure what you mean by your last statement on whether it's a "real" or "mostly" fast.
I don't know really, I guess there are different types of fasting, the kind where you only drink water, the kind you guys are doing, and some with no food or water. Not sure I understand it, but I don't believe in religion anyway...so....no worries. DD
Fasting during Ramadan is both with no food and no water. Some people may have a medical condition preventing them from observing the full fast. I dunno.
Yes, I know but it is only during daylight hours...you can gorge yourself silly early in the morning or after dark. DD
When you refrain from food & drink for upwards of 12-13 hours, you'd be surprised at how quickly you get full once sunset comes around (since you're stomach isn't stretched out at all).
what type of r****ded question is this? you post in the D&D all the time and im sure you know that men and women are separated.
No DD it is a real fast. I am disappointed that you would say such a thing. Fasting for one month straight from sunrise to sunset is a hard task. This year we couldn't break our fast until 8pm. A man at your stature should appreciate not eating all day.
Heh, no doubt, I was just getting clarity.....for reference.... And I do that all the time....coffee early in the morning and forget to eat until late at night, it is how I maintain my svelte figure. DD
