We all know how good Hakeem was! Someone had to be 1$. The money value should be done differently on this experiment.

Wasn't liked? Who cares. Let's focus on just pure basketball skill.

Stretch where he didn't contend? What exactly does this mean? Because he didn't contend every year in the NBA he wasn't as great? Makes zero sense. Hakeem is the ONLY one on this list that had no weakness. Offense, defense, rebound. He dominated both ends WITHOUT being the biggest guy on the court. The only criticism of Hakeem is he was always humble and never a attention w**** (like some ppl on this list).

While Wilt's records are very impressive, you have to remember that the play style was totally different when he played, as compared to other centers. Teams would shoot over 100 shots per game, every game. In today's game, teams would never cross 100 shots unless they played at least triple overtime playing run and gun. There were basically no defensive plays other than man to man so it wouldn't be strange to see a player totally dominate. Especially if the team revolved around one player, like it did with Wilt and his team.

If you are talking the most skilled center, Hakeem is the answer. There is a reason why Jordan and Shaq both have Hakeem in the highest regard. No offense to the other centers, but they never came close to the skill of Hakeem.

Wilt, Shaq, Russell and Kareem all took advantage of their physical gifts rather than skill. Wilt and Russell were men among boys. Kareem, who I think is most overrated, relied on his lengthy arms to do one move. And while Shaq did play in the Era of Great Centers, he was most dominate (1999-2007) when the era was closing and the centers were past their primes or retired. And even then, Shaq was never as dominate as he could have been. With his body and unique athleticism, Shaq could have been the greatest center ever without question. Yet, he always seemed to settle for dominate, not unworldly dominate.

You got to be kidding me with this. Here's a post from the forum you got your stats on - just thought you might want to read it again for context:

One more quote from the forum just to remind you of the greatness of Wilt, and I will stop derailing this thread (even though if you want to play the game - it was in the dish first):

Wow Wilt Chamberlain is a better defender then given credit for. Dude was holding KAJ at his peak (arguable GOAT peak) to nearly 100 points below his shooting percentages in some series! I mean, dude had KAJ shooting in the lower 40s in the last 4 games of the 71-72 WCF at a old age. If I am not mistaken, Wilt was also making guys like Nate Thurmond among other life a living hell (does anyone know what were Thurmond's numbers were against Wilt?). I think what Wilt was doing in the late 60s and early 70s was really impressive considering that was when the first wave of great centers came in the league and he was playing amainzing defense on them which kind of takes away from the "Wilt dominated a weak ere bs".

I wouldn't say Wilt shut down KAJ by any means though but it is still impressive what he did against Kareem considering Kareem is the same guy who made great defenders like Walton his b!tch. Would love to see more full games between the two then any other heahd to head matchup in NBA history honestly.

    Magic - 6'9
    Jordan - 6'6
    Durant - 6'9
    KG - 6'11
    Hakeem - 6'10

Use the extra $1 to buy a pack of gum.

I think this is the best line-up because of the defensive potential.

I'd prefer Duncan over KG, but would be short a dollar and forced to go down from Durant to Pippen... which I don't want to do, because then the team I think is too much defensive and not enough offense.

What lineup would beat the above?

How are stats of a 25 year old Jabbar vs a 36 year old Chamberlain relevant?

It matters not. The guy that spent the dollar on Hakeem, easily got the value out of their 15 bucks. The other guys are idiots.

How old was Hakeem when he dominated Shaq in the finals vs Orlando?

How is Barkley and Malone worth more than Duncan? This is uncredible.

You realize I put Kareem and Hakeem as my top 2 right?

Dirk led his team to a title being the only superstar on the team. Malone couldn't get it done even with Stockton's help.

P.S.: I had to put bmd on my ignore list, as the only person on there. It's not even the posts, but the ridiculous signature is just too annoying. Clutch used to take action in the past about sigs like that.

Actually, it's very relevant... Kareem said by far the toughest player he played against was Wilt. Remember, he's one of those cross-generational...he's played against a murderer's row of centers.

Perspective, do you like the Mavs' chances of a title in the 90s? Utah would fare well against modern teams, in fact it would take an Miami, OKC, or championship Laker team to beat them.

That's the best lineup you could find.

Your 4 and 5 can effectively guard guards as well as the paint. You win.

    Oscar
    Clyde
    Larry
    Garnett
    Dream

That leaves me with 2 dollars left. Garnet and Dream are the best defensive players at their positions (no disrespect to Russell). I like Clyde better than Kobe or West and not enough money for Jordan. Oscar is considered by many as the greatest all time player. I think it's a toss up between him an Magic so I took the value. Larry is the most mentally tough player to ever play IMO and he is the best distribute rat his position (sorry Lebron). Garnett, Bird, Clyde and Oscar are all arguably the best passers at their positions.

I think that team could do it all.
