Does it say anywhere that AJ has surpassed #34? 1A and 1B. Read the Thread Title. Hakeem is one of the GOAT. When it comes to the Mt. Rushmore of Houston Legends, Dre' would have a face.
i wasn't suggesting toward everybody on this board. i was talking about me and him. 713 is still in high school i believe. which means that he was born either in 94 or 95. he most likely didn't get to watch Hakeem but probably watched football more because like he said, it's a football dominant city.
i dont think there is anyone that will ever unseat hakeem as #1 in this city, biggio and bagwell mean so much to this city, finally getting to see them play in a WS was incredible. bagwell was already done, and biggio wa son the back end of his career. andre is making his case to surpass biggio & baggs. but right now hes not there.. he is a housotn legend regardless... if im being completely honest, the only way to unseat hakeem would be to be a franchise qb that comes in a puts up a couple lombardi trophies..
Hakeem built the foundation for Clutchcity aka Clutchfans. Andre is amazing and a likely Hall of Famer (if he wins a Super Bowl), but he isn't close to Hakeem. He won us the game today, but let's not forget he only has 3 TD catches all year and he has never had 10 TD catches in a season.
Texans are 9-1. Andre was being conserved in the beginning of the year. Only playing 2/3 of the snaps but to say Andre not scoring enough touchdowns is injustice. When we need BIG plays. AJ is our answer just like Hakeem was to the Rockets.
hate rating houston greats like dream , dre, biggio, n bagwell. but someone that doesnt follow both of the sports knows about dream n his unique skillset. dude was a defensive nightmare. dre is too but not to the level of hakeem. glad to root for both of them.
And add to that, only a QB or running back has the single-handed ability to impact a football game like the five starters on a basketball court. Hakeem was instrumental in every win the Rockets had, while a receiver can have a terrible or brilliant day without it impacting the game.
If you somehow combine JJ Watt and prime Andre Johnson then you have a decent comparison for Hakeem, but that's still not giving Hakeem enough credit.
Stop feeding the troll. He obviously has no idea wtf he's talking about he's just another fair weather bandwagon fan.
Although AJ has the longevity, I think you can compare his accomplishments as a Texan to Earl's accomplishment as an Oiler and when comparing Houston sports legends, Earl doesn't hold much of a candle to Hakeem even if Houston is a football town.
Clyde is not on that list, there are a half dozen players ahead of him I would put Earl and Andre ahead of Biggio and Bagwell. Football takes priority in Houston. Baseball comes in 3rd
