OK now I think that Hakeem is definetly without a shadow of a doubt the greatest big man in NBA history. He's a big man who can run and shoot. Thats a hard quality to find in a big man. You see it in Kevin Garnett, Rasheed and C-Webb but it is hard to find and hakeem did it best. But I still think he's second ot Jordan. How can you say that Jordan is 40th thats crazy. He dominated the NBA for 6 years. And He could of done it with just about any team so I don't wanna hear nothing from none fo ya'll. ------------------ Rasheed Wallace gots mad skilz. As I said before, EVERYTHING Jordan did someone did it before him. As I said before, Hakeem is the greatest. As I said before, greatness is something which cannot be proven but is only an opinion. I say Hakeem is the greatest and put up a very good argument why he is just like a Jordan-lover can and has done but someone in L.A. may say Kareem or Magic was the greatest and can also put up a good argument, somebody in Boston can put up arguments for Russell, Bird, etc. It never ends. Greatness is strictly an opinion which can never be proven. ------------------ Arkansas' Biggest Rocket Fan!
I'm not really a jordan lover at all...I love hakeem more, as a player and a person...but we are not talking about favorites here...I understand that you have your opinions, and that greatness cannot be proven...BUT opinions can be a little foggy because you talk with your heart or sometimes through your arse and NOT with your head... Its like saying Jeff bagwell is the greatest hitter of all time...it sure sounds silly looking at the number of great legendary players before him...he's great, but to what degree? but you are entitled to your ignorant opinions... To kind of jokingly believe is one thing...but to feel for certain that he is the greatest of all time is being pretty naive... ------------------
I'd have to rate them about even as far as greatness goes. Statisticly, Dream has played longer & put up more #'s in more total catagories than Jordan. No one can question either players desire to win. I think that what brings Jordan even or maybe ahead of Dream is his leadership on the floor. Dream has never been very vocal or forceful on the floor with his teammates. Jordan, on the other hand, had no problem getting on someone that was dogging it. Every team needs someone like that on the floor. A strong, compasionate leader can get more out of his teammates than a quiet, compastionate leader. They both were & still are great athletes & people. I just think that the leadership abilities are the real difference between these two great players & may have been the reason Jordan has six championships to Dreams two. It would've been something special to have seen these two great players on the same team for a couple of seasons. Hey, maybe we can talk Jordan out of retirement in order to play with Dream & Francis for two more years. ------------------
this computer lab i'm in is only open for 5 more minutes, so i can't explain much further... but, i can bet you this: if jordan didn't speak english clearly if jordan looked like Sam Cassell if jordan didn't have Nike if jordan wasn't a flashy dunker he would be a great player that didn't get alot of respect and airtime... simply put, he wouldn't be considered the best of all time. ------------------
Do you not get it??? I said it was MY opinion that he is the greatest...simply an opinion!!! I never said anything was certain. If you combine my posts on this subject along with dream_teams then you would see why Jordan is wrongly labeled the greatest player of all time. Don't get me wrong he was a GREAT player BUT there are simply too many arguments and good arguments at that to name him simply the greatest. Realize this I said Hakeem ism the greatest to me I didn't say he was in the mind of every single basketball fan. You people who kiss Jordan's a** label him the greatest in everybody's eyes when this is ABSOLUTELY not true. I say great but not the greatest and I'm sure you will same the same about Hakeem. ------------------ Arkansas' Biggest Rocket Fan!
By the way did Jordan ever play a whole month without eating and go entire games without drinking? I don't think so but Hakeem does it every season during Ramadan. ------------------ Arkansas' Biggest Rocket Fan!
Ooooh! A very touchy subject. I feel in my heart that Dream's the best big man ever...but the best ever has to go to MJ. I'm a Rocks fan 'til I go, but you need to be honest with yourself. A very close race, nonetheless. Keep up the great topics! ------------------
