Go to this damn thread: This is the one about Shaq giving props to Hakeem, on how he is such a teacher to him... http://bbs.clutchcity.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=35416 Where have you been hiding during the 94-95 Finals? Shaq was young and was killed by the Teacher. About Toronto's centers, Antonio Davis, playing for Indiana, was already a starter there and contributed and knew the game well. Keon Clark was already a good player and was the only player I can agree with didn't need Hakeem's help. Montross...he was a waste like sorry ass Cato. I think it would be a great asset to have Hakeem on the bench teaching the rookies, 1 and 2 year veterans.
Here I am. All I have to say is that just having Hakeem Olajuwon on the roster would be a beautiful sight. His salary is unimportant, since the Rockets will be over the cap long after he has retired. If some of you are so bitter that you wouldn't welcome Hakeem back to Houston to finish out his spectacular career, then I wonder how you could ever have been Rocket fans at all.
ZRB coming to the rescue!! All these Hakeem Haters!! Hakeem is remembered still here in H-Town and I want to bring him back!! Like I have said for the past 10 posts, Hakeem would be an awesome backup and someone in the time of need when we need a surge!!! He will easily help out Ming and help him out w/ his fundamentals. Everyone else can just SUCK IT!
Crisco, what do you know...there is a chance he might...you got no hope....you ain't no Rockets fan...
I just don't see Hakeem coming back, not after he shot his mouth off about Rudy. If Rudy and Hakeem reconciled...if we managed to dump a worthless contract...then maybe. The Raptors played better with Antonio Davis at center anyway. Hakeem has two more years left, but isn't there an option after the next year? I don't know if it's his or the team's option. I wouldn't mind seeing Hakeem back, if only because Mo might become redundant, and besides, Mo is from Michigan, very close to Toronto. But this is all academic, not gonna happen.
Crisco, you in the wrong area...we all want Hakeem back....wha the hell is CriscoKidd? What kind of SN is that?
you're making that 'JUNIOR member' under your name make a lot of sense by this garbage your posting. guys are voicing their opinions and you come out w/ your own opinions AND some. this isn't a grade school playground battle of name calling so don't make it one. just prove your point, shut up, and move on w/ your life. as for hakeem, sorry but the only person that i can ever think of that ever learned anything from dream was othella. kenny thomas....maybe...but that's about it. shaq probably tries to mimic the footwork but...well y'all know the rest. he's just giving respect to dream. dream just 'taught' him by example on the floor.
I would have liked Hakeem to retire a rocket as would have all rocket fans. Hakeem himself chose for that not to happen. We are not getting him back, and it's time to move on. sorry I couldn't come up with a more original screen name like yours. SteveFrancis01010101010 was already taken. damn im goin out Holden style:
There doesn't need to be any logical explanation....like everyone else feels...the Rockets could use Hakeem as a backup that can show some veteranship on this team...
ok, steddinwhateverthehell your sn means....I'm not here to start a fight...I believe in Hakeem being a good backup on this team...I don't know where you come off...and ooooooooh...you just became a Member....GOOD FOR YOU!!
Well, I guess the people that I was speaking with went to bed...and I ran into the grumpy night crew.....well, don't need this....already spoke my viewpoint on Hakeem and the TRUE ROCKETS FANS have heard.....
He's not coming back. He left for more money, then trashed Rudy and CD after he left. Not gonna happen.
To convince me to change my position and accept your viewpoint on this subject, there does need to be a logical and rational explanation. All I see is emotional posting from the Pro-Dream side. Dream made a business decision last summer as did the Rockets. Kevin Willis was previously with the Rockets and returned because there was still enough time left in his career for it to happen. There does not appear to be enough left in Dream's career for him to return as a player. For Dream to publicly clamor for the Raptors to trade him back to the Rockets would be a major embarassment to Toronto and to Dream. He had too much pride to accept Houston's offer last summer and it is doubtful that the pride has diminished enough for him to return has a designated backup when he left with visions and pronouncements of being a key part for the Toronto offense. Most of the Houston roster is young and Rudy would be foolish to trade youth just so Dream could make a farewell tour in a Rockets uniform. Sending draft picks to Toronto would not be a sound business decision from the Houston standpoint. Come to grips with this..........it is a business, as Dream demonstrated last summer. Mango
You must mean Hakeem Olajuwon fans, because in order to get Dream back, we would have to trade for him, and that would mean giving up a player of consequence. Since that would likely mean trading a player with more skills than the current Olajuwon (or at least a player that contributes more) then I think this move would NOT be in the best interest of the ROCKETS, but only in the best interest of Hakeem Olajuwon fans. I am both, but I am a Rocket fan first, and I don't want to trade away the player(s) it would take to get Dream back in Houston (not sure of the salaries or who could be traded to make it work, but I would think it would take someone around Mobley/Cato's salary).
