    Silver Anniversary SWC team:

    1st: Akeem Olajuwon C
    Kurt Thomas PF
    Clyde Drexler SF
    Sidney Moncrief SG
    Otis Birdsong PG

    2nd: Joe Kleine C
    Cadillac Anderson PF
    Corliss Williamson SF
    Alvin Robertson PG

Then fill out the 2nd team SG and the other two roster spots with any three of Vinnie Johnson, Rob Williams, Ricky Pierce, or Terry Teagle.

This is a team I'd enjoy watching and that I believe could compete with an all-star team from any other conference for that time frame (beat consistently, no, compete with yes)

And yes, I know my starting lineup really has 3 shooting guards, but there was an overabundance of SG's and I couldn't drop any one of these three from the starting lineup. Clyde was tall enough and quick enough to play SF in college and Birdsong was plenty good enough a ball-handler and passer to play PG here.

    Other honorable mention:

ARK: Ron Brewer, Todd Day, Darrell Walker, Oliver Miller, Lee Mayberry
UH: Dwight Jones, Larry Micheaux, Michael Young
UT: LaSalle Thompson, Johnny Moore, Travis Mays, Lance Blanks
    A&M: Sonny Parker
    Tech: Jason Sasser
    SMU: the abovementioned, astoundingly-overpaid-as-a-pro Koncak.

SWC produced a lot of good basketball players. The problem was that it was unusual to get more than two of them on the same team at the same time! When that did happen (Phi Slamma Jamma, Arkansas Triplets), that team could play with anybody in the country.
