They'll get released as soon as the leader of Haiti has squeezed every last dollar out of the case. They cant prosecute these people, they need the Americans. There's a huge conflict of interest.

On a side note.. The families are in starvation and disaster. Kids are safely back. Home many $ do you think it would cost to make them say "we told them to take the kids, sorry".

It's absolutely ridiculous. Focus is being driven away from the main issue here. These people, whether their intentions were good or bad, tried to smuggle the children into America and got caught then claimed ignorance of the law. That is the absolute bottom line.

After following this story for the past couple of weeks, I feel that most of the missionaries were just being used by silsby and are completely innocent of intentionally breaking any laws.

I do believe that Laura Silsby and possibly her assistant, Charisa Coulter, were in Haiti to make some fast money by trying to facilitate adoptions with well meaning Americans.

At this point I think most Haiti officials probably view this whole controversy as a huge distraction, so I expect that most if not all the missionaries will be released soon.

Laura silsby does really tick me off though. For her to use and abuse innocent missionaries and the Christian faith for her money making scheme is disgusting.
