Finally was able to try out the Andis Improved Masters i ordered...

    - Definitely a better cut than the cheaper clippers, as expected.

    -not too loud

-Clipper did heat up, but didn't really bother me until the very end, and it was the housing, not the blade, which was really hot. However, I was taking longer than usual, since i wasn't familiar with the cutting length of the clipper/combs and was being careful. It shouldn't be a problem with more practice.

-the taper level has a wider range than most clippers. A little tiresome going through it to get the best fade, but again, with practice it should get better.

    - i like that you can clearly hear when the clipper is cutting hair, not always the case with other clippers.

-i love the magnetic combs...stay attached very well.

    Overall, happy with the purchase

I'm looking at getting some decent clippers. Based on this thread, I'm thinking oster 76s or andis improved masters.

    Anyone have any other reccomendations?

I don't know about hair clippers, but this Clipper almost took Brandon Knight's head off:

The oster are pretty big and heavy. The barbershop I go to gave me a pair of wahl designers. They are relatively inexpensive and work great. You can even get a vacuum kit for it.
