    We would have been screwed.
Sucks for Bosh and hope the best for his health but blood clot in both lungs makes me think that he has an underlying condition.
At the very least he will be out for 6months to be on blood thinners and maybe done with basketball if he requires it lifelong.
This would have changed the landscape of the Rockets' franchise for several years. Especially since we would have matched Parsons.

    Scary stuff.

So Bosh was gonna get the blood clot no matter whether he signed with Houston or Miami? It's destiny?

Blood Clot of Destiny sounds like a great band name.

What is with people on this board seeing this poor guy's serious health issue, and the only response they can think of is "Thank God we didn't bring him here"? That's the second time already I've seen this type of response. Disgusting.

Can you please look in your crystal ball and tell me whether or not Carmelo's knee would have required season ending surgery as well had he signed with us? I'd like to know.

If Carmelo or Bosh signed here their injuries would have been blamed on Rockets training staff.

Most likely. Between those two guys. Dodging the nene/gasol trade. And Dwight maybe being out the season.

C'mon guys this is sad. A man's life is at stake here and all you can think about is "we would have been screwed had he come here". Some things matter more than basketball.
    Get well soon CB4.

It isn't life threatening, but I get what you're saying.

This is a serious and potentially life-changing, if not life-threatening, condition. To put that in the context of us being fortunate to dodge his contract is in poor taste. I'm sure if he makes a full recovery some of you will be very upset.

Chill out folks. Being sad for a guy and acknowledging the repercussions to the Rox can be mutually exclusive. Also a pulmonary embolism is very treatable, and not being able to play basketball is not the end of the world for Bosh.
Some of the responses are very hypocritical as if they really cared about Bosh and his condition, you would at least educate yourself on the diagnosis and what it means.

    Drafting Yao was a mistake?

Yeah, I don't see why this topic is offensive or off-limits. Honestly, I think it's really bizarre how the Rockets' top 2 free agent targets last offseason are looking at being out for the rest of the year. I feel terrible for Bosh and I hope he recovers fully, but Morey probably is thanking his lucky stars today that he and Melo chose not to sign here. It would've been like when the Magic signed Grant Hill(with Harden in the role of T-Mac).

I think what you meant to say was that they aren't mutually exclusive. You used it wrong.

Good thing the team didn't draft that Kobe guy. He's so injury prone.

I had to write a letter of apology for posting a morey pic. Imagine what they will make you do for this.

Of course not. But what if the Rockets had drafted Jay Williams like so many "experts" said they should? His career was cut short by that motorcycle accident. Granted, that may have never happened had he been playing for the Rockets and not the Bulls(he crashed his bike in Chicago), but who knows?

There is nothing disgusting about this topic. All this world was build on blood and suffering. Even now, as we speak, dozens young children suffer and die from hunger in Africa.
It is not like this topic is disgusting. It is more like some peoples here are too sensitive.
Idealists should not call realists topics disgusting.
