Not if the cap goes up to $60 million or more as expected, then you only have to waive / not pick up options on Delfino, Garcia, Brooks, Ohlbrecht, and trade TRob. You don't have to waive Anderson in this scenario, and can use him as salary to Atlanta to get over the $11.5 million figure, and can keep DMo and Jones.
Like it's been mentioned many times before...things change every second. If Im Dwight Howard's agent and he tells me he is leaning towards the Rockets....and I spread that info to you guys, only to have him change his mind a few days later...does that make me less of an insider? Cyber and Doc know people...what they report here is what they hear. Just because it doesnt come to fruition doesnt mean that they arent connected to certain insiders.
King Doc R, thanks for your thoughts. There's a million miles between today and 7/15/13; I believe the trip will be worthwhile.
Okay let's use the 60 million figure. James Harden - $14.13 million (adjusted to $60 mil) Jeremy Lin - $8.37 million Omer Asik - $8.37 million- Royce White - $1.72 million Terrence Jones - $1.55 million Donatas Motiejunas - $1.42 million Chandler Parsons - $926,250 Greg Smith - $884,293, non-guaranteed , Beverley - $788,872, non-guaranteed Req’d minimum player - $490,000 Req’d minimum player - $490,000 Total = $39.14 Mil subtracted from 60 mil = 20.86 mil Dwight Max Salary = $20.32 mil Remaining salary cap = $540,000 or .54 mil That's what left after dump all those guys and trade Trob. Half a mil (it's really an extra mil cause you get 490,000 back from the min player req but who's counting) minimum )... That and a second round pick gets you a rookie option but you didn't need cap space to do that. Now if you dump Royce White to someone stupid enough to take him, (you'd have to pay them).. you'd free up 2.25 mil. 2.25 Mil might be enough to resign Garcia. So that's good. Or you could Trade Trob for a late first round this summer and use that 2.25 to sign him. Either way you look at it you have to add a lot of players or Lin with Asik to get enough money to get Smith. Don't take my word for it. Ask Bima. He's the one that explained it to me.
Why guess the "Eagles" are still in: http://sports.yahoo.com/news/nba--hawks-target-stan-van-gundy-as-potential-coach-and-lure-for-dwight-howard-000351988.html[/URL] Hawks target Stan Van Gundy as potential coach – and lure for Dwight Howard
I think people talk another look at this: Great find! Well, at least the GARM situation has greatly improved with Doc and Cyberx. Love these threads.
Next year, D'antoni will be paid and continue to be useless as a coach.... Kobe will payed and will not play... If Dwight stays with the Lakers he will miss the playoffs. Will he be able to live with himself watching the Rockets in the 2014 playoffs make it to the Western Conference Finals? Watching from home? Thinking that if he was in the Rockets they would make it all the way to the NBA finals and challenge Lebron and the Heat? No way... He absolutely is a Rocket next season.
EDIT: My bad, should have been: I guess the "Eagles" are still in: Hawks target Stan Van Gundy as potential coach – and lure for Dwight Howard http://sports.yahoo.com/news/nba--h...ach-and-lure-for-dwight-howard-000351988.html
But isn't that money. And isn't that just another way of saying he wants more more more of it. 15 mil x 3 is 45 mil. People are talking 12 mil at 4, that's 48. Only 3 mil more for an extra year. He wants that extra year but he wants that extra year to be inline with what he should get. It's about more years of guaranteed money for sure but it's also about how much more money in those guaranteed years. I want Josh Smith to sign with us as much as the next guy. But just think he is looking for the best offer. Which includes years and total money.
If we decline Garcia and Olbrecht and don't pick Brooks back up, we would have about 45.1mil. 1. Thomas Robinson, Royce, and Suns' 2nd rd pick to the Bobcats for Jeff Taylor and the Blazer's pick This would put us at 40.7mil. Depending on what the salary cap is at, we would have to decline Delfino or trade Lin and take back not as much salary to get Dwight. I think the likely option would be declining Delfino as well. 2. Sign Dwight From there 3. Asik and Dmo for Ryan Anderson and Robin Lopez We match Dwight with the best available PF for him and the team and get a great backup center in Lopez so we don't have to run Smith there anymore. Lin/Beverley Harden/Anderson Parsons/Taylor Anderson/Jones/Smith Howard/Lopez
