If T-mac got all the calls he should he would make alot more free throws

he repeatedely gets fouled and rarely goes to the line

    Same with Yao

I've been critical of kobe's selfishness in the past, but these past couple of years he has really tried to differ to his teammates...there are still certain stretches in the season where the lakers are undermanned, because of injuries and he was "forced" to take over so I don't really blame him there.......and as far as him and shaq go, they both had egos and wanted to be the man......

Surprisingly enough, Kobe gets even less calls than T-mac. It almost seems like the refs are on a vendetta against him.

The problem with T-mac is that he really doesn't have that great of a form for all his shots, so when he is physically ailing, his shots become way off. Adding to that, he's lost much of his first step and his agility. So if you put those two things together, he becomes passive when the going gets tough and the opposing team plays physical against him.

Kobe on the hand, has learned that his body will eventually physically give in, hence he's worked extremely hard on perfecting his skills so that he can remain effective even with his declining physical abilities, much like Jordan did back in the hayday - I'm not saying he's better than Jordan, just that they took similar approaches. Due to that, even when Kobe's isn't feeling it, he can still make some of his shots relying on form and form alone.

Maybe T-mac's inability to truly dominate like the best of them is because he was simply too talented.

Could've fooled me, with all of the yelling and cursing and swinging his arms and pointing in their faces and following them around the court without ever getting a tech, let alone rejected just smells vendetta

Now now... Tim Duncan and Wade do even more complaining, yet they get the calls almost without ever getting a tech. Considering Kobe's status in the league, its very hard to argue against the fact that he doesn't get as many calls although he attracts even more legitimate contact than the other two.

Also, they can't eject Kobe. No one's going to watch the Lakers without him :D

I'm sorry, but your point is void and moot.

If the only thing you can use as your vendetta theory being deflated is "aw man Duncan complains too" then you really have no basis for your statement.

You cannot convince anyone Kobe gets the short end of the stick while they allow him to get away with things any other player would at least get a tech for.

Fair enough. Not that really was the focus of what I was originally trying to state.

But I do bring up Duncan and Wade in comparison to Kobe's fortunes because I consider them all to be in that same caliber of players that have won in the past. I'm not trying to argue here, but its just my opinion that compared to the other two, Kobe seems to be less able in getting calls. I have watched many times, where both of those guys, with Wade in particular for getting calls just for brushing past his defender, while referees swallow their whistles when Kobe gets hammered while driving to the hoop. Perhaps vendetta was a little strong of a word, but I stand by my opinion.

I see when he drives and he doesn't get certain calls, I agree there. I just don't follow a vendetta theory because he gets away with things too, like how they allow him to play players too close and don't call him for fouls.

Wade gets some silly calls, i agree with you there too. No excuse on that one. One day he'll have to stop all of that falling to the floor stuff though.

Duncan, the guy is already a legend. The main complaint about him is that he never thinks he fouled anyone. Sorry Tim bug, but it doesn't work that way.

It seems to me though that McGrady gets far less calls than Kobe or Wade though.

Even if Kobe really didn't get as much favor from the refs, it still didn't void the claim that T-Mac gets even less.

Could have sworn I saw Kobe "chuck" up a contested 3 point fading JUMPSHOT to attempt to win the game versus Cleveland. But it couldn't have been, I thought he drives to win games.

Just sayin what I most recently saw...

It's not the same. He doesn't have the same explosiveness right now because of a lingering leg injury.

    Oh wait ..
