We did miss Delfino today, but as crazy as it sounds, I think the more appropriate comparison for Harden is Jordan/Kobe. As much as he sometimes resorts to "hero ball," Harden is a willing passer. The next step in this roster's evolution (barring a big FA signing) is to get some more "3-and-D" guys who can knock down open shots off of Harden penetration. Jordan started winning at the highest levels when he got guys to knock down big shots (Hodges, Paxon, Kerr, etc.) to go along with Grant and what'shisname. Kobe also had guys like EFFisher and Horry to help out with the dirty work and capitalize on open looks. If they can add a 40+% 3 point shooter who can play a modicum of defense, the offense and spacing will improve dramatically. Guys like Delfino and Garcia (and even Parsons when he is on) really add a dimension to the attack. I know DD has always been a JJ Redick fan, and I think a player like that could certainly help, but it would be great if the player we obtain can also play defense or at least be a pest like Delfino/Garcia. BTW, loved, loved, loved what 'cisco bought to the floor this series. What a pro, I hope we can keep him around to help show the kids how it is done.
Thank you. This will be denied over and over again but players like Lin will steady remind you of this truth for years to come if he doesn't overcome his fears. All we are going to hear is this is his first time in the playoffs blah blah blah just like Matt Schaub a bunch of BS. You gotta play with heart and determination. Everyone doesn't have it but its possible to get it but if Lin doesn't improve next year I would look to move him.
Eh, frankly I've never been that impressed with Delfino's game. His scoring was streaky and his defense I never thought much of. Although seeing Anderson running around there lost on defense, I can now sort of see why Delfino's average d would have probably been more effective. Personally, I think OKC finally stopped playing like the Rockets in the regular season, expecting it's superstar to carry the entire team, and played like a better team then they have since Westbrook went down. I don't expect Jackson or Martin to maintain this level of scoring but it is what it is.
Yeah, he really hurt them. That's why they made the playoffs with 45-37 record with a bunch of new young guys with little to no experience with each other.
