...... .......... man.....let me catch my breath...... that was the worse thing ive ever seen......watched it the second time to see what went wrong and he slipped not pushing out far enough.....man...... man.......
Naw, I wasn't offended, and it's not that bid a deal, really. I just don't see why. I mean, I know that terrible stuff like this happens all the time. I just have no desire to see it.  '
The video isn't that bad. If you notice when he is on the operating table they performed a tracheotomy on him. Basically they are helping him breath by puncturing a hole into his trachea.
I didn't, actually. I started watching the clip, watched the second guy jump, saw blood in the water, and stopped the clip. Knowing what happened, I'd seen enough to know that I didn't want to see any more.
I didn't watch the video but I found this summary on another forum... The guy jumps from what appears to be a building into a body of water. Unfortunately, he misses the water with his face and hits something that looks like a side walk or a pier. He is seen floating face down in red water. A swimmer makes it to the body and gets it to the pier that he smacked his face on. Another swimmer helps him get the guy out of the water. There is lots of screaming from girls, which is really annoying. Then the movie cuts to the hospital where you can see his face. It is split all the way down the middle, from his chin to his forehead. There is a dr/nurse holding his face together with his hands and a bunch of foreign talking.
So my question is, let's say the surgery was successful (success meaning that he survived....after this injury, that's gotta be all that can be expected).....I'm assuming that he's going to be blind, deaf, and PROBABLY wouldn't be able to have a good sense of smell either, correct?? Would it even be possible for them to be able to restore one or all of those senses, or is this poor guy relegated to life as a vegetable after this?
LOL What? You neglect to mention that his face is split down the middle and looks like he just got shot at close range by a shotgun in the face. How is this not that bad? If I was a doctor my reaction would be something along the lines of Father Woods. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/sKIuwBdRzKY&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/sKIuwBdRzKY&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
Nah, that's not a tracheotomy. If it was the incision would be more midline and have some securing device like a plate with a shiely(I forget how to spell it) with some ties or stitches and such...I see what you think might look a trach...on the left side of the neck, but that's definitely not one. His air passage is being held open by the ET tube stick out of his head. I've never seen one that looks like it's sticking out so much, but then again, he doesn't have much mouth and throat to stick it in. I'm sure they didn't have much trouble visualing the vocal cords for that placement...
It's funny how I can longer identify at all with you guys that are freaked out about this. I guess at some point after "pain olympics," "faces of death," 2G1C, etc. I became totally desensitized...
Wait is the guy still alive?? HOLY CRAP that is the miracle... Does anybody know if he made it? Sorta a gut twister for me but nothing to crazy..
