Not in the field, just used to work on the ambulance... but I'd assume it's a suctioning tool? Seems like that would be necessary.. not attached to anything though so I get why it's unclear.
If he hit his head on the concrete he'd be dead. I imagine his face ended up grazing on the concrete. Thats just awful to think about much less have to witness.

no need to justify starting a thread. it would have been posted eventually. i mentioned it once in the bungee jumper who survived thread but chose not to post it. the thread title speaks for itself. the squeamish should definitely stay away from this one... it would be nice for a follow up story on this guy...
That's the end of the endotracheal tube to help him breath. His airway is compromised with all the blood and trauma so they shove that down the trachea to secure an open airway... Usually there is a ventilator connected to the end you see sticking out of the guy which assists with breathing...obviously there isn't one on him now which means he's breathing on his own and probably conscious (yikes).

When have you ever seen a guy look like this? I'm just commenting that it freaks me out that he's still alive while doctors try to save his face.

now im split over this video. Half of me thinks he was an idiot, but the other half of me thinks idiots get whats coming to them. I guess if he lived, he would have to face the consequence over the choice he made. If he was trying to get laid and impressing a girl, he dove head first in to the wrong life choice, halving his chances to get the girl.
