I wouldn't say we are out of the mix for flood at all just yet with some models showing it making a turn back toward here. If it stall near us we're screwed.
nothing really matters....im waiting for the model after it passes over cuba and is in the open gulf. then we'll get a better understanding. as of now its just shifting back and forth and tweaking here and there. nothing definite.
Those are the same models that ran at 2:00 PM Eastern Time, as you can see that it says 2:00 next to each of the models. New models are released at 2:00 and 8:00 EDT, both morning and night (or 1:00 and 7:00 Houston time.)
ill be looking forward to tomorrows 1 o clock then. it'll be way past cuba and in the open gulf waters. and to you Michael Phelps, i feel the same way. but we will see tomorrow.
Hanna is one to watch out for. Some models have her going into the Gulf. Then it switches to one to the Gulf and the others to the East Coast.
Actually only one of the models has it going into the gulf. According to Jeff Masters the most likely threat is to the US east coast, not the gulf. EDIT: Never mind. I think you meant to say "HAD her going into the gulf" instead of have.
Certainly true...I was just saying where where we specifically live in the Houston area is out of the storm surge zone and is not prone to flooding (which is why the family decided to bunker here I'm assuming)
Yeah, that's what I meant. I couldn't edit and just left it there. What are the chances that Hanna intensifies?
/golfclap Go troll D&D, unlike hypothetical political arguments, this **** is real and directly affects the lives of millions. Go away please.
As long as Gus stays well to the east of us, landfall anywhere from the Golden Triangle to NOLA shouldn't require evacuation of this area where I am. Im in a high part of Baytown just south of I10 in a brick house...I'll have the boards up as he gets closer to this area, and I got generator and supplies and plan to shelter in place. My preliminary thought is for a Rita-style landfall but Gus will come in at a different angle, Rita was almost going due North when she hit, and it looks like Gus will come in going more NW or WNW. Either way we are most probably going to be on the "clean" side so the main danger will be rains, flooding and possible tornadic action.
I'd also like to point out that I think this thread has broken the bbs record of the most times someone has been called an assclown.
