Go away. You don't genuinely care.. it's about sports A one game suspension is what I'm bracing myself for
If they’re gonna suspend him, then have some common sense and suspend him a couple of games during the regular season, next year.
At least Yuli didnt try chickening out of an apology: Gurriel, speaking through a translator, said he made the gesture because he never had success against Japanese pitchers in the past. Gurriel is a Cuban native who played one year for the Yokohama DeNA Baystars of the Japan League in 2014. "I did not mean it to be offensive at any point, quite the opposite, I have always had a lot of respect [for Japanese people]," Gurriel said. "For me Japan is very important because it's the place that gave me the chance to play. http://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/...parently-mocks-los-angeles-dodgers-yu-darvish
Annnnd, Yuli is not a racist. Not everything is racism, despite people wanting everything to be racist. He apologized if anyone was offended. End of story. Non-issue. ****ing move on people. http://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/...parently-mocks-los-angeles-dodgers-yu-darvish
Then I guess you don't have a site you belong to. You're reaping the consequences of having more about-faces than a politician.
Such a beautiful message. And coming off a tough loss. What character Darvish is showing. THIS should be the lead story on all the media outlets. The mentality Yu is describing is the one true solution to racism/violence/hatred.
Because you're not a Houston sports fan, and you shouldn't be allowed to get away with baseless slandering of other people.
No it shouldn't. This whole thing was blown way out of proportion and Darvish just added fuel to the fire without knowing anything other than viewing a 3 second video clip.
Gurriel made a mistake and this is a learning opportunty for him. I'm not shocked though because he's spent most of his life in a country (like most latin american countries) that is not as sensitive to ethnic/racial issues as the US. That said, its not an excuse and I expect he'll apologize and more. I don't know Yuli's heart but this incident alone doesn't make him a racist. Folks throw that term around too much. The folks on twitter who are ready to cast Yuli as a POS human being are idiots and part of a larger problem when it comes to discourse on these types of incidents. This is an unforced error at the worst time. I hope it doesn't serve as a distraction for the rest of the team as they try to achieve what this franchise has never beem able to. Also, it's a bad look for the organization and may hurt whatever small chance we had of getting Otani.
